I love Disney to death don’t get me wrong, but there are some attractions that just don’t compare to the rest. Today we are covering ten rides that I think are the worst attractions at Disney World. The ones I think are worth skipping at Disney World if you have limited time and are looking for what to cut. They are the best ones to remove from the list. Now if you do have the opportunity to visit any of the rides below it’s not to say you will have a bad time. Most of this attraction make my list because they have the most room for improvement in creativity and entertainment.
Swiss Family Treehouse
You can find this treehouse in Adventureland at the Magic Kingdom. This is a walking attraction, and who needs more walking when they are exploring the Magic Kingdom? You essentially walk through a replica of the treehouse in the Swiss Family Robinson. It’s gotten very out of date and I am hoping this area gets an update soon.
Magic Carpets of Aladdin & Triceratops Spin
Slowly spinning in circles while going up and down, sounds like fun right? These two attractions, the Magic Carpets are at the Magic Kingdom and Triceratops Spin at the Animal Kingdom.
It’s a Small World
The song, everyone knows the song to this attraction, even if they haven’t been to Disney World. I would say what hurts this ride the most and puts it on the list is that it’s just a touch too long. You get about halfway through and you are just itching to get off and away from the tiny singing dolls. You can find It’s a Small World at the Magic Kingdom.
Primeval Whirl
It twists, spins, and drops you. Sounds like a good time right? This Dinoland USA attraction in the Animal Kingdom leaves guests wanting more. People often complain about this area of the park because it looks like a side of the road carnival and that’s pretty much what it is but with all the Disney theming. I wish this ride was just a little less spinny, it gets a little too nauseating for my liking.
Circle of Life
If you have been to Disney World before you may have missed this attraction. The Circle of Life is a movie, featuring Timon and Pumba, located inside the Land pavilion at Epcot. Typically people fly by the entrance to this on their way to make their Soarin FastPass+. This outdated twenty-minute film covers conservation and protecting the Earth we all live on together. This attraction hasn’t been updated in over 20 years and it’s due for some sprucing up. I know the Imagineers could put their magic to work and really transform this area of the Land.
Tomorrowland Speedway
Smelly gasoline, a short track, a car that can’t drive straight, and the stranger that keeps slamming into the back of your car just about sums up this attraction at the Magic Kingdom. The other thing that always gets me is this attraction is it always has a long line… outdoors… in the sun!
Journey Into Imagination with Figment
While Figment is a beloved Disney character the same can not be said about his current attraction. While the attraction features the beloved character and song, who these days is amazed by mirror tricks and air blasts? Half the time we do take a break from the heat and ride through we find many of the ride features are broken. Fans of Epcot have long been hopeful that this ride would soon see an update.
Astro Orbiter
Yet another spinning attraction makes the list. Can you tell I have a thing against spinning? I mean who likes to feel sick? This ride is in Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom high above the entrance to the People Mover. You have to take an elevator to get up to this attraction. Once you are up there you sit in these hard tiny seats. If you are forced to sit with someone they will be essentially placed into your lap. This old style attraction is better left skipped.
Mission: SPACE
At Epcot, you can ride Mission: Space and feel what it is really like to be an astronaut. The first red flag for this attraction comes when you first enter the queue and they ask you which team you want to choose. What they are really asking you is if you want to boring, or if you want boring and nausea.
Stitch’s Great Escape
The good news is this attraction at the Magic Kingdom is on its way out. Currently, if you are looking to ride this it is only open seasonally. So what makes this attraction so bad? Stitches Great Escape was a replacement for a previous attraction that was very scary and not family friendly. The problem is Stitch’s Great Escape is too scary for kids. You are harnessed down in the dark and wild Stitch runs about the room causing trouble. It’s unsettling for adults and just about every kid would have a meltdown when I was on the attraction.
What is your least favorite attraction at Disney World? Is there anything on this list that you and your family just love to do? I want to hear about your experiences. The great part about Disney World is there are so many facets and aspects of it, it offers a different experience for every family. I have been visiting the parks annually since my parents first brought me at just a year old. Recently I was able to fulfill my life long dream of being a Florida local and moved from the wintery Northeast to the sunshine and fun of central Florida. Now I am hoping to share my Disney knowledge with you so you can have the best vacation possible!

Have you ever read the backstory to DinoLand? If you had, it would make sense that that ride looks like a roadside carnival as that is what it's supposed to be! The charm is in the cheesy details.

I too hate spinning rides lol! We love stitch just not the ride and yes that alien encounter that was there previous was terrifying, I can still remember the sound of the glass breaking! The speedway is leaving and making way for a new tron ride which looks so cool! Epcot needs some sprucing up for sure, mission space is a total waste of space! Never had a desire to ride it or let my four kid sit on it either

From what I've read, the Speedway isn't leaving. The new Tron ride is being built behind it.

What if you have a 4 and 2 year old? They sound like rides that age would like.

Some of the rides like It's a Small World, of course, they would enjoy but Disney has loads of other rides like Peter Pan's Flight that I would prioritize high above this first for little ones! This list is just something to keep in mind when you are trying to prioritize the order of the things you want to ride : )

Great list, though I'd add the boat ride in Mexico. I really wish Figment would get a better ride. And maybe get rid of the Lion King thing and bring back "veggie veggie, fruit fruit!"
