Most people may not realize the sponsorship of Pandora in the parks, or even that there is an actual Pandora store in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. When Disney announced the replacement nighttime spectacular Enchantment, Pandora was proudly announced as the Disney Sponsor. 

Pandora ended the fireworks sponsorship when Enchantment ended and Happily Ever After returned. 

Splash Mountain formerly sponsored by Ziploc

Epcot Kidcot Fun Stops

We love a marketing placement with a sense of humor. Back a few years ago Splash Mountain was sponsored by Ziploc and even provided a Ziploc bag at the entrance of the ride for you to put your cell phone in to protect it from getting wet. 

Splash Mountain closed permanently in 2022 to make way for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Currently, there is no news about a sponsorship for this new attraction. 

DinoLand U.S.A. formerly sponsored by McDonald’s

Dinosaur animal kingdom

Back in the hay days of McDonald’s and fun happy meals. McDonald’s had a partnership with Disney. Not only could you buy the famous fries at various quick service carts in the parks, they also sponsored the land, Dino Land U.S.A. 

While the sponsorship ended 20 years ago, there is still evidence in the attraction queue for DINOSAUR. On the pipes you can see the chemical compounds for ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise. 

Dino Land U.S.A. is currently in a precarious predicament. It is the most disjointed land not only from its park and itself in all of Walt Disney World. We believe that the entire land will be completely reimagined in the future to something else. 

Space Mountain formerly sponsored by FedEx

Space Mountain has had a few sponsors over the years, but FedEx was the most interesting match up. Most sponsorships you can understand the pairing, but FedEx and Space Mountain doesn’t make much sense to us, but what do we know?

Space Mountain currently has no sponsor. 

Muppet Vision 3D formerly sponsored by Kodak

Kodak and Disney go way back all the way to the design and creation of the Magic Kingdom. Before the digital age took over, they were the major player in the photography world. Since then, however, the company has struggled and all sponsorships have ended. 

Muppet Vision 3D currently has no sponsor.

Mickey’s Philharmagic formerly sponsored by Kodak

Just like Muppets Vision 3D, Mickey’s Phillharmagic is an innovative movie attraction that invites all of the senses, so during the big Kodak era, Kodak sponsored both attractions. 

Mickey’s Phillharmagic currently has no sponsor. 

The relationship between Disney and Kodak goes all the way back into the 1940s. We found an online museum all about Eastman Kodak and their relationships with with animation in Hollywood. Read more here.

Spaceship Earth formerly sponsored by AT&T and Siemens

What is more interesting than who sponsors Spaceship Earth in EPCOT is what the sponsors are able to do in Spaceship Earth. What you may not realize is that the top quarter of the big ball is actually a club lounge. Sponsors are able to use and invite guests to enjoy the Spaceship Earth lounge as a perk of sponsorship. 

Currently, Spaceship Earth has no sponsor and the lounge goes unused, which is a real shame. Could you imagine the popularity it would have as a lounge? Think of like using it for specially invited guests or even used as a sweepstake like the suite in Cinderella Castle

Ultimately, the collaboration between Disney and corporate sponsors creates a win-win situation. Sponsors gain exposure and brand association with the beloved Disney brand, while Disney receives the financial support and resources necessary to create memorable and immersive attractions for their guests. This ongoing partnership exemplifies Disney’s commitment to delivering exceptional entertainment while leveraging the power of strategic alliances with leading companies across various industries.
