As Hurricane Dorian approaches Florida preparations are being made around the state. While we are loving the European models that show this growing storm hanging out in the Atlantic most other models have it making some sort of landfall here in Florida. Sadly as you can see in the latest update below it looks like someone took a marker and circled the state of Florida.
If you have an upcoming vacation planned for central Florida please keep a close eye on the news. The official forecasting is being out here at https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/. This is sure to affect travel plans for many over the holiday weekend and throughout next week.
Official Update from Disney
Walt Disney World Resort is operating under normal conditions. We are closely monitoring the path of the projected weather, as nothing is more important than the safety of our Guests and Cast Members.
Hurricane Dorian Disney World Cancellations
We are taking precautions, including canceling weekend sporting events and closing Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park on Sunday.
We are also contacting Guests with current and upcoming reservations at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and the Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to plan for anticipated weather impacts.
Disney World Hurricane Policy
If a hurricane warning is issued by the National Hurricane Center for the Orlando area, or for your place of residence, within 7 days of your scheduled arrival date, you may call in advance to reschedule or cancel your Walt Disney Travel Company Disney Resort Hotel Package and most room-only reservations (booked directly with Disney) without any cancellation or change fees imposed by Disney.
If you have products and services provided by third-party suppliers included in your vacation, such as airlines, hotels, car rental agencies or travel insurance companies, you will continue to be responsible for any non-refundable payments, as well as cancellation or change fees assessed by those suppliers. The policy does not apply to certain special events or dining experiences.
If you have questions or you wish to reschedule your vacation due to a hurricane warning, please call (407) 939-7675. Guests under 18 years of age must have parent or guardian permission to call.

I have been visiting the parks annually since my parents first brought me at just a year old. Recently I was able to fulfill my life long dream of being a Florida local and moved from the wintery Northeast to the sunshine and fun of central Florida. Now I am hoping to share my Disney knowledge with you so you can have the best vacation possible!
