Disney World is one of the top honeymoon destinations in the United States. And why would you not consider honeymoon at Disney? Disney World is the place dreams come true, you can dine with royalty and sleep in luxury.
1. Upgrade your Room
You only get a chance to go on your honeymoon once in your life. You are going to want to relax and enjoy resort amenities on your stay so look into staying a deluxe resort. If you just can’t fit a deluxe resort into your budget try upgrading your room at your resort. It really paid off on our honeymoon when we went from a standard view room to a savannah view at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
2. Plan to Stay 7 to 10 Days
Disney World is comprised of four different theme parks, two water parks, and one giant shopping destination. As you can see if you are trying to experience Disney and do everything you need to really spend some time there. Additionally, this is your honeymoon you aren’t going to want to marathon through everything. Give yourself some extra time at Disney so you can slow down and enjoy your time there.
3. Take Pictures
You want to be able to look back and remember your trip! Luckily Disney has loads of Photopass photographers stationed throughout the resort. Be sure to take advantage of these stops. You can get these pictures for free if you have the photographer use your own camera or if you have an annual pass. Another great option is buying memory maker, a vacation photo package.
4. A Romantic Dinner for Two
A long dinner for two is an essential part of each day of your honeymoon. With over 300 dining locations scattered across the Disney World resort, you will not be short on options! Ready to splurge in celebration of this big moment in your life? Book a reservation at Victoria and Alberts for a truly top class dining, you can’t get a better meal at Disney than there. Did you know that Disney World offers a wide selection of backstage tours? For those who aren’t as interested in the history of Disney, I recommend the Wild Africa Trek. Get ready to explore the Wilderness! This tour takes you up close and personal with the animals you meet on Kilimanjaro Safari rid at the Animal Kingdom. For a full list of tours and more information, you can check it our here.
6. Let People Know your on your Honeymoon
Shout it out! Or if yelling isn’t your style maybe a button is? You can pick up FREE buttons that state you’re celebrating your wedding at guests relations or the front desk of your hotel. Wear them proud, while you’re not promised anything, my husband and I got countless free desserts. Who can say no to free chocolate?!?! Outside of buttons, couples shirts and wedding ears work great as well.

Souvenirs! Seriously, these are a part of every vacation really. This is your honeymoon so we recommend getting something special. Chris and I got a personalized Disney wedding ornament with our wedding date on it! We love it and you can pick up your own and get it personalized at the Christmas store in Disney Springs or the one at the Magic Kingdom.

A morning sunrise balloon ride, you just can’t get more romantic than that. If you head down to Disney Springs you can go 400 feet in the air in the world’s largest tethered helium balloon. You can choose to set sail from the Magic Kingdom Resort Marinas or from the Yacht and Beach Club. Want to step your game up? You can opt to do add private dining to your cruise which includes your own butler. Going for a grand and majestic option? Then you will want to check out the Grand 1 Yacht.
12. Arrange an in Room Surprise
Disney does not skimp out when they are helping plan a surprise! When we went on our honeymoon we were surprised with a special in-room celebration. Our room was covered front to back in rose petals, we had a spa gift basket and chocolate. We even had a hidden Tinkerbell sprinkling some pixie dust in our room.
13. Put on your Glass Slippers and Eat at Cinderella’s Royal Table
14. Get some Awesome Honeymoon Apparel
Why not get some awesome couples shirts for your trip? We have a few must have we stocked up on for our honeymoon. First is this Wifey & Hubby combo shirt found over on TeePublic. Then of course as a huge Frozen fan, I had to get we finish each other’s sandwiches shirts. These guys also have a cute Tangled inspired couples shirt.
15. Just Relax!
This is your first chance as husband and wife to really get some alone time together. Head to the spa, lounge by the pool and just chill. It can be so tempting to go until you drop at Disney. I think it’s important to relax a little so you don’t come home and feel like you need a vacation from your vacation.
