Disney surprised us with an announcement that Fantasmic! will return in November 2022 to Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World resort. This show has been closed since the pandemic shutdown in 2022. There is no exact date yet but we are hoping to see it pop up on the entertainment calendar for Disney World in the coming weeks!
Refurbishment for Fantasmic
The show has been closed due to a lengthy refurbishment Disney decided to do on the show after the closure of the Parks. While Disney hasn’t shared any details, even at D23 Expo back in September we got a few nuggets of information from an in the known Disney World reporter, Scott Gustin:
When “Fantasmic!” returns to Disney’s Hollywood Studios later this year, it will feature “a new show sequence featuring Disney characters – Mulan, Elsa, Aladdin, Pocahontas and Moana – in heroic moments, as well as new technical enhancements.”
The new sequence will replace the existing Pocahontas scene. The scene will feature multiple characters – and each will have their own moment during the new scene. It will also replace the scene at that specific slot in the show. Also, it’s a bit longer than the current scene.

I have been visiting the parks annually since my parents first brought me at just a year old. Recently I was able to fulfill my life long dream of being a Florida local and moved from the wintery Northeast to the sunshine and fun of central Florida. Now I am hoping to share my Disney knowledge with you so you can have the best vacation possible!
