Hi Friends! This year was my first time attending Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, so I am here to talk about the biggest letdowns I experienced while at the party. This is all a matter of opinion, but I thought I could offer some insight to people who may be considering attending for their first time, too!
Only Five Treat Locations
I think the number of treat locations may have been the BIGGEST disappointment of the party. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party has 14 treat trails… which is more than double what the Christmas Party had! And the real kicker is, the Christmas Party is more expensive than the Halloween! I am all about treats, food, snacks, whatever you want to call them, so the number of treat locations really let me down, especially when I had high expectations after Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Also, not all 5 treat locations offered a beverage.
Not Enough Annual Passholder T-Shirt Variations
I always try to “tread lightly” when it comes to talking about Annual Passholder merchandise because I don’t want to make it seem like Annual Passholder’s are entitled.. BUT only having one AP shirt is a little ridiculous in my opinion. I would not have minded if they put the same design on various styles, maybe two different styles would have been great, but the fact that they only had one style, and the fact that it wasn’t a very appealing style for both men and women was upsetting to me. Also, WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN? No AP shirt for them? I don’t know, I was just pretty frustrated with the fact that they only had one shirt and it wasn’t even amazing.
Too Many Shows & Characters-Not Enough Time
15 meet and greets, a stage show, fireworks, and a parade. With the party lasting from 7 pm to Midnight and the meet and greet lines running about 10 minutes to 1 hour or MORE, there is just absolutely no way to get everything done in one night.
You have to pick and choose what your priority meet and greets are, and don’t forget if you want a prime spot on Main Street for the Parade you have to get there at least an hour early…I just found myself very overwhelmed trying to plan everything out, and I was also upset I didn’t get to meet every character I wanted to. Sure, I could have missed one of the shows, but I didn’t really want to do that either. Disney: WE NEED MORE TIME PLEASE.
Photopass Mess Ups-Having To Send in Photo Claim
I don’t know what it was about the night I went, but at almost every Meet and Greet we either got a different family, or they weren’t showing up on the MyDisneyExperience App. It is pretty frustrating waiting in line for 30 minutes to meet Goofy and having a great interaction with him, just to find out you got the wrong family’s photos. Not to mention, the photo claim takes at least a day to get your photos to you.
There you have it, friends, that is my rant about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. I still had a great time and would totally go again, but there were some letdowns that I felt could be beneficial to those of you thinking about heading to your first party this year as well! Have you been and had any Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Letdowns? Let us know about them in the comment section below! I have been visiting the parks annually since my parents first brought me at just a year old. Recently I was able to fulfill my life long dream of being a Florida local and moved from the wintery Northeast to the sunshine and fun of central Florida. Now I am hoping to share my Disney knowledge with you so you can have the best vacation possible!

biggest letdown was the fact that all the treats and drinks offered were all sugar. I cant eat refined sugar and so I did with out. I would have been happy to even have one no sugar added item like hot cocoa, apple slices or chips. I asked at each treat station, but no choices. the only good part was I did get photos with the seven dwarfs; but why wasn't snow white with them? Oh well. I do agree the Not so scary Halloween party was way more fun.
