If you only have a limited amount of time to spend at the Magic Kingdom you are going to want to cram in as much as possible. The Magic Kingdom is packed with over 60 attractions to choose from which is why we think it’s best to leave two days to accomplish this park. If you are limiting it to one day here is our best Magic Kingdom rides to do before lunch.
Magic Kingdom Arrival
Early! Getting to the Magic Kingdom before the park actually opens is going to be key to this plan. Arriving early is when you can still experience little to not wait times on attractions. Usually, by 11 am the parks have filled up with those late risers and the lines get long. With a 9 am park opening we recommend to be in place in front of the castle by 8:30 am.
Planning travel time can be tricky! If you are staying a Disney resort I recommend being at the bus stop by 7:45 am. If you planning on driving to the park, time it so you are parking the car at 8 am. You have to leave time for security checks and catching a ride from the Ticket and Transportation Center to the front of the Magic Kingdom.
Magic Kingdom Fastpass+ Picks
In a perfect world, you would get the following Fastpasses for the afternoon leaving you time to pack in as many rides as possible in the morning while the wait times are shorter.
Seven Dwarf Mine Train – This new roller coaster nestled in Fantasyland is family friendly, which is why it constantly yields wait times over an hour. It is also one of the most difficult Fastpasses to get and if you can find it, it seems like it’s always only available for evening times.
Space Mountain – Another roller coaster but this one isn’t as family friendly. Completely in the dark, you jet off into space for a wild ride full of sudden drops and whipping turns. This is a great stop for the thrill seekers in your family.
Splash Mountain – This ride does not have a high-capacity, but it does have a high demand. It doesn’t take long for Splash Mountain to build up a long line. This is a great one for a little afternoon cool off with the family.

Your Magic Kingdom Morning Schedule
The touring plan for the morning at the Magic Kingdom will be as follows:
- 9:00 am – Peter Pan’s Flight
- 9:15 am – The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
- 9:30 am – The Haunted Mansion
- 9:50 am – Big Thunder Mountain
- 10:15 am – Splash Mountain
- 10:50 am – Pirates of the Caribbean
- 11:20 am – Jungle Cruise
- 12:00 pm – Lunch
This gets you on at least seven attractions before you sit down for lunch. If you are making good time you could even stop and do a few more attractions along the way!
What to do After Lunch at the Magic Kingdom
Once you are finished with lunch it’s time to use those Fastpass+ reservations you reserved for the afternoon! Don’t forget to sprinkle in the low wait time rides in between. For Tomorrowland, you have Monster’s Inc., People Mover and Carousel of Progress. In Fantasyland one of my favorites Mickey’s PhilharMagic hardly ever has a long line!

I have been visiting the parks annually since my parents first brought me at just a year old. Recently I was able to fulfill my life long dream of being a Florida local and moved from the wintery Northeast to the sunshine and fun of central Florida. Now I am hoping to share my Disney knowledge with you so you can have the best vacation possible!
