What you Should Never Do with your MagicBand

What you Should Never Do with your MagicBand

MagicBands at Disney World are your new key to the world. At Disney, you use these plastic wristbands to shop, get into your hotel room, enter the parks, pay for food when on the dining plan and so much more! If you are getting a MagicBand I would take advantage of it throughout your trip to Walt Disney World. Of course, you always have the option to buy your own MagicBand at shopDisney.com or at just about all the shops at Disney World. With a MagicBand you have everything you need for your Disney World vacation on your wrist! MagicBands are designed to enhance your vacation at the Walt Disney World resort. However, there are some important things you should never do with your MagicBand.

Forget to Customize your MagicBand

Did you know that you can customize your MagicBand before you even get to Disney World? Once you have booked a room at the Walt Disney World Resort or purchased an Annual Pass you will be able to customize a MagicBand for an additional fee. Magicbands are now an additional cost for hotel guests but you do still get one free per year as an annual passholder.

Log in to your MyDisneyExperience account and navigate to the MagicBand section. There you will find the options to customize your band. Your customization options are limited to color, design, and adding a name printed inside your band.

There are however many other options that you can add to your band but it will cost you extra. These accessories can be found in the park or even from some fantastic small shops over on Etsy. Think things like stickers, slide on decor, rhinestones, and more!

Pack your MagicBand in Checked Luggage

Remember when we said your MagicBand was your key to everything at Disney World? Well, that includes using the Magical Express at the airport here in Orlando. Keep your MagicBands in your carry on and you will be all set.

Even if you plan on getting different transportation at the airport you should keep your band in checked luggage. You just never know when your luggage may get lost or stolen when traveling by air.

Not Make Fastpasses

Skipping out on making advanced reservations for your Fastpass is a total beginner’s mistake. There are three ways you can make your Fastpass+ reservations. First, is you can go online 30 days before your trip or 60 days if you are a resort guest and book. If you prefer you can also make these reservations on your phone or tablet if you download the MyDisneyExperience App.

Forget to book your Fastpass+ ahead of your trip? Well even though we don’t recommend it, it’s still better than nothing. You can still book at a designated kiosk located inside the park. Also, if you use up all of your previously booked Fastpass+ reservations they allow you to book additional ones. Making additional reservations can also be done on your phone or at a kiosk in the park.

Neckalce Magicband Holder

Hide your MagicBand

Wear your MagicBand proud when roaming the Disney World theme parks. Having your MagicBand handy is key to taking full advantage of all it’s usefulness. If the thought of wearing a bracelet on your wrist all day sounds like a no go don’t worry! You can get adapters to convert your Magicband into a keychain, necklace, or even buy an adapter for your watch.

We hope these few tips help you avoid some mis steps on your next vacation.

I’m still waiting to hear how Disney plans to recycle these for one time users…
