Ever get back home from your Disney World vacation and wonder what the heck am I going to do with all these MagicBands? After your Disney vacation, there are several fun and creative ways to repurpose and cherish your Disney MagicBand as a cherished keepsake. Here are a few ideas:
Use Your MagicBand Again
In most cases to use your MagicBand again, you don't have to do anything. Yes, there is a tiny battery inside of your MagicBand but even after the battery dies, the passive RFID will still work! So why do they have a battery in there? They need it for capturing your chip long-range. This is for getting your attraction ride pictures linked to your PhotoPass account without having to scan a thing.
If you have lots of MagicBands and cards tied to your account after many trips you may need to go into your Disney account and manage which ones are active in the MagicBand section of My Profile.
Display Your MagicBands
Showcase your MagicBand as part of your home decor. You can create a shadow box or frame to display it along with your favorite Disney vacation photos. This way, you can relive the memories every time you pass by.
Why not do something fancy with all your MagicBands when you aren't at Disney World? I love that picking up a simple metal wreath holder at the Dollar Store can create such a magical way to remember your vacation.
Etsy is the perfect place to look around for different display options for MagicBands where all of the items you will find will be created by Disney fans as enthusiastic as you in their love for the parks! The world is your oyster on Etsy where you are limited only to the most creative imaginations!

Turn Your MagicBand into a Keychain

Transform your MagicBand into a unique key chain by removing screws that hold it to the strap and placing it in a holder that allows you to attach a small key ring or lobster clasp. This way, you can carry a piece of Disney magic with you wherever you go.
Make it a MagicBand Christmas Ornament
If you're a Disney fan who loves holiday traditions, turn your MagicBand into a personalized Christmas ornament. Add some festive ribbons, glitter, or small decorative elements to make it stand out on your tree.
With this option, you can be as detailed or minimalist as you’d like! Not looking to ruin your MagicBand for a future trip? Just close the band and hang it on the branch as is. Simple. Reusable. And Disney, so that means it’s perfect! Well, practically perfect in every way.
Create a Memory Book
Include your MagicBand in a scrapbook or memory book dedicated to your Disney vacation. You can attach it to a page alongside photographs, park maps, and other mementos, capturing the magic of your trip in a tangible and artistic way.
If you are the type of person who likes to have a different MagicBand for every trip because each trip is unique, then this option is perfect for you!
Remember, no matter what you choose to do with your MagicBand, it will always hold the cherished memories and experiences of your Disney vacation.
Can You Simply Throw a MagicBand Away?

Some people worry that a MagicBand is like a small computer. This is NOT the case though. Your MagicBand has no personal or sensitive information stored on it. This means no names, no credit card info, no addresses, no ticket info. So what is on your MagicBand? It contains three RFID systems that send out a serial number when queried by the various Disney systems they interact with. The Disney systems then use the serial numbers to look you up in their database.

I am a mother of three that has refused to grow up. Adulting is for the birds, so I go to Disney World every chance I get for that magical escape from reality. I believe that Haunted Mansion is the best ride in all of the Disney Parks, and I am fervently in team Happily Ever After for fireworks spectaculars, (sorry, not sorry, Enchanted). Finally, I hope I never grow tired of skipping down Main Street, USA, and my dream come true would be "friends with" the Fairy Godmother in my old age.
