Primo Piatto Review

Primo Piatto Review

Nestled into the heart of the Riviera Resort is a Primo Piatto. This restaurant is not talked about as much as it should be. We have had some wonderful meals here and it’s right off the Disney Skyliner exit so it’s easy to stop in here especially if you are park hopping between Hollywood Studios and Epcot. If you aren’t park hopping this is also close by if you are staying at Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach Resort or and Epcot Resort (Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin and Yacht and Beach Club).

A Look Around Primo Piatto

The inside of Primo Piatto isn’t super large but we have always had seating options. If you find the inside is ever full keep in mind there is several areas outside set up with tables and some even have umbrellas. On cooler days we love taking our food and eating down by the water, an added plus is getting to watch the skyliner go by.

Primo Piatto Menu Items

Croque Monsieur

Primo Piatto Review 4

Classic French Ham and Swiss served with choice of side. I really enjoyed this one but be prepared for a cheese overload. As you can see it’s not just any old ham and cheese sandwich it has a Bechamel sauce and is topped with even more melty cheese.

Out of everything I have tried here so far the Croque Monsieur remains my favorite so far.

Bacon Cheddar Burger

Primo Piatto Review 5

1/3 lb Grilled Signature-blend Burger with Brisket and Chuck topped with Bacon, Aged Cheddar, Shredded Lettuce, Tomato, and Garlic-Mayonnaise on a Toasted Brioche Bun served with choice of side.

Spicy Italian Sandwich

Primo Piatto Review 6

This hearty sandwich comes piled with Sliced Capicola, Salami, Ham, Provolone, and Vegetable Giardiniera with a Garlic-Mayonnaise served with a choice of side. This sandwich did have some heat to it but it seemed to come from the olive topping. So once I got that off it was back down to a mild version of an Italian sandwich.

Grilled Chicken Sandwich

Primo Piatto Review 7

Balsamic-marinated Grilled Chicken with a Sun-dried Tomato Relish, Spinach-Artichoke Spread, and Mozzarella on Toasted Focaccia served with a choice of side. This was a great option if you looking for a classic chicken sandwich.

Gelato

Primo Piatto Review 8

I was a little disappointed in this gelato. It tasted alright but it was simply served up in a Hoodsie style cup of my childhood. I was expecting a fresh homemade gelato like the gelato from Vivoli il Gelato I can grab at Disney Springs. For the $5 price tag, I definitely expected more.

Classic Tiramisù

Primo Piatto Review 9

Tiramisu is an Italian dessert made of ladyfingers soaked in coffee, arranged in layers, and filled with a cream made with mascarpone and eggs. This dessert item is marked as containing alcohol.

Conclusion on Primo Piatto

We love this spot and while it is out of the way if you aren’t stay at the Riviera Resort it is still worth the trip every now and then. As you can see we have been back to this spot several times since the resort first opened.
