Over the years we have seen the Magic Kingdom transform into the Halloween Kingdom in August. This of course is all in preparation for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. However, with COVID, the party was canceled so many questioned if we would even see the decor go up this year. Everyone wanted to know will Disney World decorate for Halloween in 2020?
When Will Halloween Decorations go up at Disney World?
Well for a change GOOD NEWS! Yes! From September 15th to October 31st you are sure to “fall” in love with Magic Kingdom Park all over again. You will have the chance to soak in the aura of autumn with Main Street, U.S.A. dressed in fall décor, and other seasonal offerings. Of course, this means Mickey pumpkin wreaths are making a comeback yet again!
Wearing a Halloween Costume
In a new twist, to bring some Halloween party fun into the park this year, for the first time guests of all ages can wear your funniest, Disney-ist, most creative costumes! This all happens, of course, during Magic Kingdom Park regular operating hours from September 15th to October 31st.
As an important reminder, costume masks are not permitted for adults; only children younger than 14 years old are permitted to wear costume masks. In addition, all guests are required to wear approved face coverings during their visit. Before you arrive, check our Know Before You Go page and Costume Guidelines.
Disney Halloween Treats
Autumn at Walt Disney World Resort wouldn’t be complete without popular fall treats, such as the famous Pumpkin-spiced Waffle Sundae at Magic Kingdom Park. Visit our official Foodie Guide to Fall Treats at Walt Disney World: Parks Edition, which features all of the yummy details.
Disney Halloween Merchandise
Festive Halloween-themed merchandise will be available in select locations around the park. Featured items include a new spirit jersey, Loungefly backpack, and candy-swirl Minnie Mouse headband, along with a selection of apparel inspired by Disney Villains and more. You can also pick up a Disney Halloween themed mask!
I have been visiting the parks annually since my parents first brought me at just a year old. Recently I was able to fulfill my life long dream of being a Florida local and moved from the wintery Northeast to the sunshine and fun of central Florida. Now I am hoping to share my Disney knowledge with you so you can have the best vacation possible!
