H2O Glow Nights at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon

H2O Glow Nights at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon

Get ready to make a splash at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon! If you ever wanted to have a pool party with the Toy Story gang this is your stop on your next Disney World vacation. So let’s dive into our review after getting a chance to experience the party compliments of Disney World.

What is Disney H2O Glow Nights at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon?

H2O Glow Nights are back for their second summer at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon. This year the whole theme is inspired by the popular Toy Story Toon, “Partysaurus Rex.” The exclusive after-hours party happens on select nights from May 30th to August 24th 2019.

Your favorite Toy Story characters, Buzz Lightyear, Woody and Jessie are all available for character meet-and-greets. If dancing the night away is your jam head to a DJ-hosted dance party on the sandy beaches of the Surf Pool! Not to mention a big lineup of specialty desserts, drinks, and food exclusive to H2O Glow Nights.

So just when is all the late night water park fun going down? Disney H2O Glow Nights are every Thursday and Saturday night from May 30th to August 24th 2019 (except June 20th).  Like all special events, only a limited number of tickets will be sold, so party on with small crowds! H2O Glow Nights officially starts at 8 p.m. and runs until 11 p.m. However, you can still get in with your ticket starting at 6 p.m. and we highly recommend squeezing in extra time. Once you scan your ticket at the normal turnstiles you will be given a wristband for the event and a special flashing, glowing bracelet.

Forky at h2o glow nights

If you haven’t gotten to meet Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie this is a great opportunity to do so! Plus if you hunt you can even grab a picture with an inflatable Forky, from the all-new movie, Toy Story 4. It took us a bit to find Forky, he was hiding all the way over near the kid’s zone of Typhoon Lagoon. I loved all his details like the rainbow on his popsicle stick feet.

Specialty Lazy River Floats

You may be surprised to find a few new friends in the lazy river at Typhoon Lagoon. My personal favorite was the giant pink penguins but you had to fight for them due to high demand.

This picture perfect Bathtub Party Sundae is available at Happy Landings. Inside your very own souvenir tub is Vanilla ice cream, confetti cake, whipped cream, and chocolate rubber ducks topped with sprinkles.

Exclusive Glow-In-The-Dark Merchandise

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Disney World event if there wasn’t a way to commemorate your H2O Glow Nights experience. The party has its own exclusive new merchandise collection. The lineup includes a glow-in-the-dark t-shirt and a Tervis tumbler and features artwork inspired by the event.

Is H2O Glow Night Ticket Worth It?

Going to an after-hours party at Disney guarantees a smaller crowd and shorter wait times. H2O Glow Nights are no different. We were able to race around and hit all our must do slides at Typhoon Lagoon, eat some exclusive desserts, and hang in the wave pool and the event still wasn’t even over! It was honestly a relief and the biggest perk to not stress over whether or not we could cram everything into one evening.

I highly recommend preparing to pay for a locker. We wanted to avoid renting towels so we had a bag of towels, camera, phone, etc. that we didn’t want to leave out while we were hitting the water slides.

We don’t have an Annual Pass to the Disney World water parks and I think that helped make this event in our books go down as two thumbs up and can’t wait to go back. It was the perfect way to explore the water park we didn’t often go to. Despite this event being at night, it was still Florida hot summer night and the water was a perfect way to cool off and relax. So if you are in our boat and don’t often visit the water parks this is the optimal way to experience it.

We do hope to see Disney up their game in future years of this event. When you go to an After Hours event in the theme parks you get unlimited free snacks and drinks, this would have been a great addition to this party as well. I also would have loved to see more glow theming. There is so much that you could cover at Typhoon Lagoon, imagine the water slides with neon?!? Maybe I am taking it too far, but I can see the potential for this event to get even bigger and better in the coming years.

How to Book H2O Glow Nights

Tickets are $59 per person plus tax for adults and $54 per person plus tax for children ages 3 to 9 when purchased in advance. On the days of the event, the ticket price will be $69 per person plus tax for adults and $64 per person plus tax for children. Tickets are not required for children under age 3.

You can book these tickets online direct through Disney or you can kick back and relax and have your favorite Magical Travel agent book everything for you for FREE.

I love that they're trying to do more events at the water parks to bring in more crowds! And the idea of Toy Story seems weird to me for Typhoon Lagoon but after reading about it more, it seems like it works! I wish this was still going on for our October trip!
