Located in the Town Center of Disney Springs, Frontera Cocina is headed by Celebrity Chef Rick Bayless. If you have no idea who that is, like me when I was first told, Chef Bayless is best known for winning Bravo TV’s “Top Chef Masters” program with his authentic Mexican cuisine. He also is the host of the PBS show “Mexico One Plate at a Time”.
From the outside, you may not be able to guess that it’s a Mexican restaurant but once you step inside it’s a complete transformation. There are so many beautiful touches inside of here. Be on the lookout for a wall of tequila (referred to as the Wall of Fame) along with some beautiful glass chandeliers.

A Look Around the Inside of Frontera Cocina
It is an open kitchen concept at Frontera Cocina. We were seated right next to here so we got to watch them put together the meals. It was also a great way to get a look at some of the other menu items for when we come back the next time.
It’s important to look up when you are dining at Frontera Cocina. The ceilings have beautiful light fixtures as well as a mural pictured below.
Frontera Cocina Dishes
The following is a few of the dishes we have tried from their menu.
The steak was nice and tender and made for some great tacos! Of course, the key element is the guac here I just wish they gave you a little more.
The same as its steak counterpart list before this dish. We actually like this one better because the chicken just had so much more flavor!
The veggie tacos are mostly zucchini based with a dairy type cream sauce. It was pretty good and came with a side of corn toritillas which are not pictured above.
Oaxacan Red Chile Chicken. Crispy half chicken, Oaxacan red mole, plantain rice, warm corn tortillas.
I don’t know how this one got put at the bottom because this is a must get here. So fresh so flavorful the guac is a must get. Let’s put one more shot in just to get you drooling!
Um, this is probably the best thing to date I have tried at Frontera Cocina. It is called Toto Elotes and it’s amazing! It’s an appetizer of just made chips topped with roasted corn, lime crema & red chile Cotija cheese. If you are like me and had no idea what kind of cheese that is it it’s like a melted cream cheese soooo good!
Frontera Cocina Recommendation
Guac! Can I leave my recommendation at that? Okay in all seriousness the food here is full of flavor and fresh a great stop at Disney Springs. It serves up authentic Mexican food so if Tex-Mex is more your thing this may be one to skip. As far as reservations go this is one we have found is often available upon walk up. If you are visiting Disney World during peak times then as with any sit-down restaurant we recommend booking a reservation in advance.
If you are interested in booking a reservation for Frontera Cocina you can do so through My Disney Experience as well as Open Table.

I have been visiting the parks annually since my parents first brought me at just a year old. Recently I was able to fulfill my life long dream of being a Florida local and moved from the wintery Northeast to the sunshine and fun of central Florida. Now I am hoping to share my Disney knowledge with you so you can have the best vacation possible!
