Hi everyone! Today we are talking about a lesser-known, but still, a hidden gem souvenir that Disney offers and that is the silhouette portraits. Although this souvenir may be lesser-known, they are more affordable than most other souvenirs. Best of all it will last a lifetime, unlike a $30 t-shirt you are likely to outgrow. I am a huge fan of the uniqueness of this souvenir and I think it deserves more recognition than it gets! This is a souvenir that includes the whole family making it an even greater investment to remember your trip!
What are Disney Silhouette Portraits?
The silhouettes that are sold at Disney World are little works of art. It is cut paper that is the outline of your head or face. They are rich in history dating back to France in the 1700 hundreds. When you see these portraits in person they definitely have that old world feel. They all stemmed as a cheaper alternative to getting a photograph. Of course, fast forward a few hundred years and silhouettes are now more expensive than getting a picture printed.
The best ways to think of these is an old fashion selfie pic. While these paper cutouts used to be a dime a dozen they are much rarer these days. Worried about a squirmy kid or struggle sitting still yourself? Well, good news! A paper silhouette can be completed in around 60 seconds. There is no age requirement for this.
Where can I find Disney Silhouette Portraits?
Magic Kingdom
Head back to Liberty Square to find the cart in the Magic Kingdom where they have the option to get silhouettes. It’s just before the Ye Old Christmas shop and across from the very tasty Sleepy Hallow Treats.
Epcot
The cart for silhouettes is in France. It’s right along the waterside so you have probably passed it if you have been to Epcot before and not even realized.
Disney Springs
The cart at Disney Springs is located in the open area between World of Disney and Ghirardelli Chocolate Shop.
Hours for Disney Silhouettes
You will find the silhouettes sold at carts which means they will have variable hours depending on the day or even the season. If you want to confirm the schedule I recommend popping into the guest relations office. They can help you get the correct hour information for that day. Also, remember since the carts are located outdoors, they will close during bad weather.
The carts service people on a first come first serve basis. So there are no reservations accepted here. On the plus side, we find there is rarely ever a wait to have your portrait cut.
How Much do Silhouette Portraits Cost?
This souvenir is surprisingly affordable. At the time of writing a silhouette is just $10 per person and the frame costs $9.95.
Will you be getting a Disney Silhouette done on your next Disney World trip? Plus we would love to hear the way you have saved them. Some use them for scrapbooking other simply frame and hang on the wall. Let us know in the comment section below!

I have been visiting the parks annually since my parents first brought me at just a year old. Recently I was able to fulfill my life long dream of being a Florida local and moved from the wintery Northeast to the sunshine and fun of central Florida. Now I am hoping to share my Disney knowledge with you so you can have the best vacation possible!

I don't know if they have a max, but in the pictures I have, I have seen examples with five people!
