The weather in Florida is HIGHLY unpredictable. I have lived here my whole life and am still so far away from understanding Florida's crazy weather changes! It is very frustrating for me, living here, I cannot imagine how frustrating it must be to pack to come to FL for a trip! Well, friends, I am here to help you as best I can when it comes to packing for your December trip to Walt Disney World. But first, let's keep in mind that the average temperatures at Disney World in December, are highs in the mid-70s and lows in the 50s (Fahrenheit).
Rain Gear
Always, and I mean ALWAYS pack rain gear when coming to FL any time of the year! As I have said, the weather is very unpredictable, it could be sunshine and rainbows one day and a torrential downpour the next! I found this two pack of adult Mickey and Minnie ponchos on Amazon for only $14.99 and they have a children's two pack for $13.31! Much cheaper than the ponchos you will buy at the parks!
Holiday Sweaters
Even if you are not heading to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, it is still so fun to dress and be festive in the parks during the month of December! Holiday sweaters (or sweaters in general) are a great way to layer up throughout the day, you could wear a short sleeve shirt underneath them for a chilly morning but warm afternoon and vice versa for when it gets chilly again at night! This Mickey sweater from Jcpenny is a great find, and again much better priced than Holiday Sweaters in the parks!
Trendy Spirit Jerseys
Want to stay on "trend" in the parks while on your December trip! Well, spirit jerseys are the biggest rage and they are perfect for both men and women as well as children! They are long sleeve, and not too heavy, perfect for the unpredictable weather that has FL all December! You can snag any of the various spirit jersey styles on the ShopDisney website or at all throughout the parks!
Mickey and Minnie Beanies
I know I have already mentioned ways to protect your body from the crazy Florida weather, but what about your head?! I love this family set of beanies from ShopDisney! What a great way to be coordinating with your family, while staying warm during those chilly park nights! And not to mention how cute the Holiday touch is on these! ShopDisney is currently running a sale on them, so get them while they are hot!
Last but not least, and I know this may be a given, but do not forget to pack lots of long pants, short sleeves, long sleeves, flannels, thermals, jackets, anything you can layer up with! The weather may be unpredictable, but there is an almost guarantee for chilly mornings and nights all throughout December. I don't understand why, but 50 degrees in Florida feels really cold. Just this past week (in December) I was in the park with a hat, scarf, and mittens! It may be hot in the afternoon but you will want that jacket in the evening, or possibly even a poncho! Better to be safe than sorry, am I right?!
I hope this helped give you some insight on packing for your trip to Walt Disney World in December! And if you are traveling down this month, I wish you the happiest vacation ever! For more tips read Disney World in December!
