Did you know there are currently over 25 resorts at Walt Disney World? Picking the perfect hotel for your next trip is difficult…we understand completely. It’s why we have our pros and cons guide to every resort at Disney World. Sometimes we all have our hearts set on something that we can never get off our minds, so I say just do it. Buy the shirt, eat the cake, spend the money. I’m going to tell you everything you never thought you needed to know about the splurge of all splurges. The Grand Floridian. Yes, I said it. Book your room at the Floridian and I can assure you, you will not regret it. Why, you ask? Spending over $600 a night definitely is a little insane but it will give you and your family the experience and memories that will last a lifetime.
What to Expect at the Grand Floridian
With 867 rooms at the Grand Floridian, you are guaranteed to walk into a 19th-century beach paradise. This luxurious resort sits on the shore of the man-made Seven Seas Lagoon and has a perfect view of Cinderella Castle. As you are riding the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom, you are probably tempted to get off and walk into the five-story lobby of the elegant hotel. For your benefit, I suggest you do it. If I am not the only person that has a weird obsession with the smell of hotels, you’re going to enjoy the fresh, clean smell of the lobby. If I am alone here, I’m sorry for frightening you prematurely.
Walking into the Floridian is like opening the door to Narnia, except better. You are greeted by two four-tiered elaborate chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and surrounded by marble floors. Take a peak down and try to find some of your favorite characters in the floor! Your eyes will be sprinting from place to place trying to take in the in-depth detail of every square inch around you, but your ears won’t help but notice something magical. As you stand at the end of the railing on the second floor, you’ll notice the jazz band is lightly playing all your favorite Disney songs. Doesn’t it make you just want to kick back on those large, comfy couches below you and listen for hours? Sometimes relaxing in the lobby is something that needs to be done.
Grand Floridian after Check In
Once check-in is complete, my favorite part is going to find my building because you have a chance to walk around and check out everything the resort as to offer. There are nearly one dozen restaurants, two large pools with pool bars, an amazing spa, and one incredible character dining experience. When I say “large pools” I really mean large pools. Don’t worry, there is a kiddy splash playground for your little mouskeeters, too! If this 20-year-old still thinks the Floridian’s Beach Pool is amazing, it probably is still amazing. Send your kids walking up behind the rocks and splashing down the jungle-like water slide right into the pool.
Rooms at the Grand Floridian
These state of the art deluxe rooms include:
- Two queen beds
- (Large) Bathroom with one full mirror
- Couch
- Table with two chairs
- Dresser with 4 drawers on each side
- Mini fridge
- Flat screen tv
- In-room safe
- Balcony
And so many other handy things you may need. Each balcony has a view nothing can beat, whether it is of the pool, the lagoon, or the garden.
The Grand Floridian hosts games during the day, so the adults can enjoy some time of their own too. The resort also hosts movie nights on the lawn some nights. This is great for the kids because after a long day walking around the parks, they still don’t want to go to sleep! No kid or even adult should miss out on anything while in Disney. So, kick back, relax and enjoy a Disney movie being placed via projection.

Hi Mousketeers! I am 20 “ears” old and have been going to the parks since I was two. Each time I’m there, I learn new things.
