A Tour of Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory
A look at the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory at Port Orleans French Quarter in Walt Disney World.
The lobby of Port Orleans French Quarter is well worth the visit at Disney World. Right off to the left of the lobby is the focus of this article, Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory.
Make sure you take a look around when you dine here. The theming as you may quickly guess is a warehouse that stores these giant parade props for Mardi Gras. Of course, this fits in with the resorts New Orleans theme.
Dishes from Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory
Here is a look at the dishes we tried from our dinner at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory! If you take a look at the menu you may notice that it is filled with popular Louisiana cuisines like a selection of Po’ Boys, Gumbo, and even some man catching Beignets.
The picture does not capture the size of this sandwich. The cheesesteak here is massive! It comes with two sides, you can see the chips here but I also got coleslaw which was very good.
This burger was loaded with toppings, another giant portion! The deluxe burger had Barbecue Pork, Fried Onions, House-made Pickles, and Cheddar Cheese. My husband loved this burger, it was a lot of food and thought in hindsight maybe he didn’t need the two included sides that came with it.
Of course, no trip to Port Orleans is complete without some Mickey shaped beignets. We stopped in late September so pumpkin spice beignets were an option and boy were they oh so good. The beignets are made fresh to order and just melt in your mouth we are dying to get back over there and try the regular ones as well. Oh and above is the beignet sundae if you like you can also order without the ice cream and even get a larger size if you are sharing with your family.
Also fun note for the coke fans out here, this location has a Coke Freestyle machine.
Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory Review Recommendation
Considering this is just a resort food court we were blown away. The service and food were phenomenal! You have a large selection here from just basic burgers and sandwiches for your picky eaters. For those of you who are more adventurous, you have selections like gumbo, rice bowls, and ribs!
Remember, if you’re not staying at Port Orleans Resort, the French Quarter you can still get to this resort by boat from Disney Springs or bus from any of the theme parks. I have been visiting the parks annually since my parents first brought me at just a year old. Recently I was able to fulfill my life long dream of being a Florida local and moved from the wintery Northeast to the sunshine and fun of central Florida. Now I am hoping to share my Disney knowledge with you so you can have the best vacation possible!
