Note: Disney invited us to come out try out their new menu of items at Regal Eagle complements of them. However, the thoughts and opinions stated below are still our own.
Regal Eagle Smokehouse is the quick service dining location at Epcot in Walt Disney World. This restaurant took over for the former Liberty Inn at the American Pavillon in the World Showcase. The Liberty Inn was more representative of a Colonial Boston feel. Now it’s an ode to a good old southern backyard BBQ cookoff. If you are a Muppets fan this is your spot. Throughout the restaurant, they have tons of Muppets nuggets waiting for you to uncover them.

A Tour Around
A look at Regal Eagle Smokehouse at the American Pavillion in Epcot’s World Showcase. Once inside you will see it is still very familiar to the old setup. Now however the stories tells of a local smokehouse challenge setup by everyone’s favorite Muppet, Sam Eagle. On the walls, you will find four different competitors which also represents the four flavors of BBQ sauce you can get. I loved taking a closer look at each section because on the wall there are even judges notes you can read.
These containers aren’t just for show. There really are four different types and flavors of BBQ sauce offered up at Regal Eagle Smokehouse.
Up first is Janice from the Blue Ridge Vinegar League. As Sam Eagle said a traditional vinegar sauce is considered the mother of barbecue sauces. This vinegar-based sauce has a lovely simple spice of salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes in a cider vinegar base all offset by just a pinch of sugar cane.
Next is a look at Rowlf’s creation, Sizzlin Pit Dry Rub Coalition. This sauce is a little untraditional. It’s a mix of dry rub and sauce.
Gonzo is responsible for Old Glory sweet mustard sauce. This mouthwatering mustard blend was another hit with us.
Bobo has cooked up a sauce under the Blue Ribbon Brisket society. Of course, this means this sauce is the perfect pairing for you if you order brisket.
Lunch and Dinner Dishes
Here is a look at the dishes we tried from our dinner at Regal Eagle Smokehouse. You will notice all of them are Texas Toast based, this even includes the bun for the burger! Once you pick out your dish be sure to get a sampling of all the sauces to try out.
American Platter
If you aren’t sure which direction to go this is the dish to get. You don’t just get one meat option, instead, you choose 3 types of meat and a side served with garlic toast. Plus we highly recommend the side of mac and cheese it was an amazing blend.
Kansas City Smoked Half-Chicken
This spin on a classic dish of chicken was a win in my book. Slow-smoked Half-Chicken smothered with Sweet BBQ Sauce served with your choice of side. It was a mild sauce that made it a thumbs up in my book.
North Carolina Chopped Smoked Pork Butt Platter
Chopped Pork Butt topped with North Carolina Vinegar Sauce served with Garlic Toast and your choice of side. Shown above is the baked beans.
Sliced Texas Beef Brisket Sandwich
Rubbed with secret Brisket Rub then slow-smoked and smothered in Spicy Mop Sauce, and placed between Garlic Toast and served with your choice of side. Shown is the side of vegan coleslaw! It was still tasty and a great complement to the sandwich.
BBQ Burger
1/3 lb Angus Burger on Garlic Toast topped with BBQ Pork and Fried Onion Ring served with your choice of side.
Memphis Dry-rub Pork Ribs
Dry-rubbed and Slow-smoked in our Pit served with Garlic Toast and your choice of side.
Banana Pudding
This pudding cup was layered with a whole lot more than just banana pudding. Inside this cup is also layers of cake, wafers and of course bananas.
S’mores Brownies
This was not your traditional smores dessert. It’s ooey-gooey chocolate yumminess. It got two thumbs up from our taste test.
Berry Punch
White Grape Juice with Strawberry, Peach, and Blackberry. This was the perfect way to cool off on a very hot day traveling around the world at Epcot.
Tennessee Lemonade
Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey with Odwalla® Lemonade and Peach.
Review Recommendation
Overall for meat-eaters this restaurant is a total win. It’s a great addition to World Showcase and much improved from its former burger and chicken tender status.

I have been visiting the parks annually since my parents first brought me at just a year old. Recently I was able to fulfill my life long dream of being a Florida local and moved from the wintery Northeast to the sunshine and fun of central Florida. Now I am hoping to share my Disney knowledge with you so you can have the best vacation possible!
