How much would you spend on a Loungefly backpack? If you’re like most Disney fans, then probably no more than $100, right? Of course, when you really fall in love with something, whether a piece of furniture, a collector’s item, or yes – even a Loungefly backpack, there’s nothing wrong with a little splurging.
But what if I told you the most expensive Loungefly backpack currently on the market will set you back at LEAST $300?
The 50th Anniversary Luxe Logo Loungefly Backpack
This hefty price tag belongs to the 50th Anniversary Luxe Logo Leather Loungefly backpack that features – you guessed it – REAL GOLD FLAKES. Considering the price, I’d say they have to come with real gold! I wonder if Captain Jack Sparrow has seen these yet….
What Does the 50th Anniversary Luxe Logo Loungefly Backpack Look Like?
The short answer: gold with matching Mickey Ears.
The long answer is that it is a beautifully-designed bright gold bag with a castle on the front bottom pocket, and little 50s embossed onto the genuine leather fabric. The front pocket features a giant outline of Cinderella Castle and an oversized “50th” emblem in the center, as this Loungefly backpack was exclusively designed to celebrate Walt Disney’s World’s ongoing 50th anniversary. The coolest part of this “50th” decoration is that it’s filled with real, genuine gold flakes.
Like all Loungefly backpacks, it comes with an adorable set of Mickey Ears on the top. However, these ears have 24K gold trim lining them, so they’re super fancy! The same applies to the zipper and hardware, too.

What’s on the Inside?
The inside of this pricey Loungefly bag is pretty simple, but nonetheless a cute design. It features a dark, navy blue lining with the 50th-anniversary logo everywhere.
Where You Can Buy the 50th Anniversary Luxe Logo Loungefly Backpack
If you’re looking to get your hands on this item, you may have a little bit of a hard time. Despite the price tag, these were a big “get” for collectors (and we all know how Disney resellers can be).
In the past, guests were able to buy this bag on ShopDisney, but a recent search yielded no results, currently stating that it’s out of stock. With the recent news that Disney’s 50th Anniversary Celebration will end on March 31, 2023, it’s very unlikely that the parks will restock this item anytime soon.
That being said, not all hope is lost. This expensive Loungefly backpack is available from resellers on eBay and though they typically have a bad reputation, a lot of the ones listed are in the same price range or at least close to the same price range they were in the parks upon their initial release. Likewise, you can check out resell apps like Depop and Poshmark to see if anything pops up.
Personally, once the anniversary is over, I have a feeling you’re going to see a lot of 50th merch start to get listed. It’s like buying New Year’s ears; they’re great for that moment, but once it’s over, you’re not going to wear ears with last year’s date on them. Same kind of concept.
Where Do They Sell Loungefly Backpacks in Disney World?
Everywhere. No, literally: you’ll probably be able to find an adorable Loungefly backpack in most areas of the parks as well as Disney Springs.
I’ve seen Loungefly backpacks available at the following stores:
- Celebrity 5 & 10 at Hollywood Studios
- The Emporium (Magic Kingdom)
- DisneyStyle (Disney Springs)
- Fantasia (Disney’s Contemporary Resort)
- Keystone Clothiers (Disney’s Hollywood Studios)
- Memento Mori (Magic Kingdom)
- World of Disney (Disney Springs)
While this is FAR from the only places you can grab a Loungefly backpack, these are a few of my favorite locations for several reasons. For starters, I think each one of them is pretty well-stocked every time I visit, regardless of how busy the parks are.
And second, each one of them offers a unique variety. For example, anything found at Memento Mori is going to be themed to the Haunted Mansion, so you know if you’re looking for something HM-related, this is the perfect spot. Likewise, the Emporium and DisneyStyle, for example, have a great selection of ears that match your new Loungefly backpack.
Oh, and Disney Springs? There’s literally a new Loungefly backpack to fall in love with everywhere you turn, which is pretty bad news for my wallet.

How Big Are Loungefly Backpacks?
The average mini Loungefly backpack is 10.5 x 9 x 4 inches. So, it’s pretty small. But, don’t misjudge its size completely. While it may not be super practical to use as a carry-on bag for your trip, it’s actually the perfect size to bring to the parks for the day.
What Should I Put in My Loungefly Backpack for a Day at Disney?
If you’re visiting the Disney World theme parks, it’s best to come prepared for the day. You should put the following in your Loungefly backpack:
- Your smartphone/portable phone charger
- Park tickets (if applicable) or MagicBands
- Sunglasses/case
- Hand sanitizer (sometimes the ones located throughout the park may be empty)
- A reusable water bottle (not glass, otherwise you’ll be denied entry to the parks)
- Reusable straw and/or utensils
- Ponchos/umbrella
- Sunscreen
- Ziploc bags to put your phone or other important items in while riding Splash Mountain)
- Any medications you need to take during the day
These are just some of the basics. However, I would also recommend bringing in a hairbrush to comb your hair after a water ride or rollercoaster so you look more polished in photos (though it’s Florida heat, so frizz is inevitable). Likewise, I always bring in some extra foundation, eyeliner, mascara, and lipstick/lip gloss to reapply because it always gets ruined every time I ride Splash Mountain. Or, simply because it’s 100 degrees and I’m sweating it all off.
