Adventureland Rides
The Jungle Cruise
- Height Requirement: None
- FP+: Yes
- Best Time: Anytime
- Length: Varies - approximately 10 minutes
A comical boat ride through the jungle is the best way to describe this ride. I mean we do have a whole article dedicated to the best jokes of the Jungle Cruise. Available for all ages, this is a slow ride with some exciting moments but the skippers steal the show with all of their puns on this one making it a favorite not for the thrill but for the entertainment.
Pirates of the Caribbean
- Height Requirement: None
- FP+: Yes
- Best Time: Anytime
- Length: Varies - approximately 8 minutes
This is our family's favorite ride at the Magic Kingdom and it is such fun! Another ride for all ages, but beware of a small drop. You'll spot a few favorites throughout the ride including Jack Sparrow himself. Another addition to this ride is a photo opt after the first couple of scenes! 21QAfter the ride, take a moment to enjoy the gift shop, it's one of our favorite themed shops on Disney World property.
Magic Carpets of Aladdin
- Height Requirement: None
- FP+: Yes
- Best Time: Anytime
- Length: Varies - approximately 2 minutes
Similar to Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride many of you know, you fly through the sky just like Aladdin! The views are nice and this ride is located right beside a citrus swirl stand which draws even more attention. Watch out for the camel, he likes to spit!
Fantasyland Rides
It's a Small World
- Height Requirement: None
- FP+: Yes
- Best Time: Anytime
- Length: Varies approximately 12 minutes
A classic slow boat ride with a song that we can't help but hum and sing throughout the day! If you're looking to tackle some of the older and classic rides then this one has to be on your list. Be sure to wave at the people eating at Pinocchio's Village as the ride begins!
Dumbo the Flying Elephant
- Height Requirement: None
- FP+: Yes
- Best Time: Anytime
- Length: Varies - approximately 3 minutes
Yet another Disney classic and a ride for all ages. Babies and toddlers riding Dumbo seem to be a right of passage at the Magic Kingdom. If you want to take a break from waiting in line let the kids play in the play zone inside. Did you know you can even find a ride car from Dumbo memorialized in the National Museum of American History in Washington, D.C?
Mad Tea Party
- Height Requirement: None
- FP+: Yes
- Best Time: Anytime
- Length: Varies - approximately 2 minutes
Spin me, spin me, spin me! Another Magic Kingdom staple (as many Fantasyland rides are) that makes you so dizzy it might feel like you've entered Wonderland. Be sure to snag a Cheshire Tail after the ride.
Peter Pan's Flight
- Height Requirement: None
- FP+: Yes
- Best Time: Early Morning or Evening
- Length: Varies - approximately 4 minutes
One of the more popular and hard to snag fast pass rides, ideal for all ages. Peter Pan's Flight takes you on a soaring flight over London and the music brings back a flood of childhood memories.
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
- Height Requirement: 38"
- FP+: Yes
- Best Time: Early Morning or Evening
- Length: Varies - approximately 4 minutes
Probably the most popular of rides at the Magic Kingdom, this is such a fun ride. Enjoy the scenery as you wait in the mine! If you can grab a fast pass for this sought after ride, I recommend doing so right away. The unique twist on this rollercoaster is that the mine cars rock from side to side!
The Barnstormer
- Height Requirement: 35"
- FP+: Yes
- Best Time: Anytime
- Length: Varies - approximately 1 minutes
This is a cute ride that offers a bit for flexibility in terms of height. My 4 year can ride it, so if you're looking for a beginner rollercoaster for the littles this would be the one. The entire coaster is outside, you so can see what you are in for, taking some of the fear out of the experience for your beginner coaster enthusiast.
Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
- Height Requirement: None
- FP+: Yes
- Best Time: Anytime
- Length: Varies - approximately 3 minutes
Take a trip through some of the classic Winnie the Pooh movie scenes and sing along (as you cool off a bit) in this classic storytelling ride. This is another ride any age can enjoy and the queue has many interactive things for you to explore during your wait.
Under the Sea - Journey of Little Mermaid
- Height Requirement: None
- FP+: Yes
- Best Time: Anytime
- Length: Varies - approximately 6 minutes
There's something special about sitting in a fancy shell. The queue has some interesting activities to help you pass the time in line. On the ride you'll catch all the main scenes from the movie and see vibrant colors as you take a trip underwater with Ariel and friends. I dare you not to sing the song the rest of the day!
Frontierland Rides
Big Thunder Mountain
- Height Requirement: 40"
- FP+: Yes
- Best Time: Anytime
- Length: Varies - approximately 3 minutes
A favorite rollercoaster ride for many at the Magic Kingdom. I get the giggles each time I ride this runaway mine train. Big Thunder takes you on a fast pace rush through a haunted gold mine. This is one of the rides to keep your hands up and smile. I especially like riding at night, when the low lighting makes the ride seem even more exciting.
Splash Mountain
- Height Requirement: 40"
- FP+: Yes
- Best Time: Anytime
- Length: Varies - approximately 10 minutes
Another Magic Kingdom classic and the one you will get wet on. Take a slow boat ride through the mountain and hum with the animals from Song of the South before your log takes a big drop! Just as you go over the top, make sure to smile, because this is where your picture is taken and you can preview it just off the exit of the ride.
Liberty Square Rides
The Haunted Mansion

Hitch hiking ghosts inside the Haunted Mansion, Magic Kingdom
- Height Requirement: None
- FP+: Yes
- Best Time: Anytime
- Length: Varies - approximately 9 minutes
Take a spooky ride through the mansion on a doom buggy but be sure to look out for hitchhikers! You're completely emersed in this ride from beginning to end as the wait involves a lot of theatrics and haunting scenery before you even enter the ride itself. Beware that the entire ride will be in the dark and the music is spooky.
Liberty Square Riverboat
Board a 3 story beautiful boat called the Liberty Belle to learn all about Rivers of America as you take a half mile slow-moving tour that lasts approximately 17 minutes.
Main Street USA Rides
Walt Disney World Railroad
- Height Requirement: None
- FP+: No
- Best Time: Anytime
- Length: Varies - 20 minutes around the whole park
This is a classic ride that every age can ride. You get to see the back side of some of the lands, can get off at Frontierland or Fantasyland, or ride the train all the way around the Magic Kingdom to return back to the Main Street station. Trains held a special place in Walt's heart, he even had a miniature train setup in his backyard to ride. This is a perfect slow moving ride if you're looking to relax for a bit or.
Tomorrowland Rides
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
- Height Requirement: None
- FP+: Yes
- Best Time: Anytime
- Length: Varies - approximately 5 minutes
Toy Story at the Magic Kingdom is like a special gift we've been given. Join Buzz in flighting Zurg in this fair-like ride where earning points gives you bragging rights. The cars hold up to three people and it is slow moving.
Space Mountain
- Height Requirement: 44"
- FP+: Yes
- Best Time: Anytime
- Length: Varies - approximately 3 minutes
This could arguably be the most popular ride at the Magic Kingdom and for many reasons. This very fast indoor and very dark coaster is a fun experience for sure. There are two separate coaster tracks inside and you will get a photo opportunity as well. If roller coasters are your thing make sure to get a fast pass because the wait times get long really fast. This ride is a must if you want to conquer all the Mountains at the Magic Kingdom!
Tomorrowland Speedway
- Height Requirement: 32"
- FP+: Yes
- Best Time: Anytime
- Length: Varies - approximately 5 minutes
Drive your own car around the speedway track at the Tomorrowland Speedway. This is a great ride for younger kids for their first driving experience, and you don't have to worry because all the cars run over a rail, which limits the cars right and left movement. Skip this ride if you don't have a little driver with you.
Astro Orbiter
- Height Requirement: None
- FP+: No
- Best Time: Anytime
- Length: Varies - approximately 2 minutes
Be your own pilot on the rocket spinning ride as you travel through space. Above all of Tomorrowland, this offers a great view too! My only warning is the ride capacity on this ride is so small that the wait time grows very quickly and all the ride does is spin in a circle, so if the park is crowded, this is a ride to skip.
Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover
- Height Requirement: None
- FP+: No
- Best Time: Anytime
- Length: 10 Minutes - approximately 10 minutes
One of the classic slow moving rides with a view, and a local favorite. Go behind the scenes of a few rides and learn some Disney facts as you take this 10-minute relaxing ride. I use this ride for a rest break, especially when the park is busy, as this ride isn't usually as busy as the more popular rides.
Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress
- Height Requirement: None
- FP+: No
- Best Time: Anytime
- Length: 21 minutes
This ride is proof that there's a great big beautiful tomorrow. This is a rotating show that takes you through the progress of electricity and life changes. My favorite thing about this ride is that Walt designed most of it himself.
Additional attractions and shows are available throughout the Magic Kingdom including the 3-D Mickey's PhilarMagic show, Monsters, Inc., Enchanted Tales with Belle, the Enchanted Tiki Room, Swiss Family Treehouse and The Country Bear Jamboree. If your goal is to tackle as many rides as possible stick to this list from each of the lands to fit in as many rides as possible during your magical Disney World trip. Magic Kingdom rides are magical, filled with classic Disney history, and some of the best rides to experience.

You can find me pushing a double stroller through the magic most days.
