Why are we talking about makeup on a Disney planning website? Well if you think about it, during your Disney vacation odds are you are going to take loads of pictures to remember the occasion. So it’s only natural that you would want to use the best makeup for Disney World to look good in all those selfies you are going to take to make your friends back home jealous. Plus, I am a bit of a makeup hoarder and I wanted to share a few of my obsessions with you!
On your Disney vacation it’s important that you don’t go overboard on the makeup. Remember, it’s humid, hot and most likely you are going to be sweating buckets. Just check out the Florida frizz below. And let’s not forget about those water rides at Disney that you have to look out for! So here is what I recommend when people ask what makeup to wear at Disney World…
Base Makeup for Disney World
First up is the sunscreen, you gotta protect that skin folks! I am in love with Neutrogena products when it comes to my face so I stick to their facial sunscreen.
Up next, primer! You may be wondering why even bother with primer? I have found that I use a lot less foundation which in turns saves me money. Another benefit is it helps my makeup stay put! This is the real benefit when you face all that humidity here in Florida. No one needs makeup sliding off their face in the heat! I used to use Smashbox’s Photo Finish but I recently discovered Tarte’s Timeless Smoothing Primer and love it so much more. It completely covers up any imperfections and really smooths out my skin.
Now it’s time for foundation! There are a few avenues I go when it comes to this. If you are looking to keep it low-key I would stick with Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Tinted Moisturizer. It gives you really great coverage while being nice and lightweight. It’s the perfect solution in the heat plus as an added benefit there is sunscreen protection. If you are looking for more coverage (like me who still battles with acne) I love to use Tarte’s Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Full Coverage Foundation. I use this foundation out on my bad skin days, there really is nothing it can’t cover over especially when combined with their magical Maracuja Concealer!
And lastly, but certainly not least, if you are planning on a whole photo shoot at your day in the Magic Kingdom (or any of the other parks) you should break out the good stuff. To me there is nothing that has topped Make Up Forever’s foundation. It’s pricey but it lasts and works wonder. This is a full coverage makeup that is made for photo shoots. You may be wondering what the heck I am talking about with the photo shoots, but it’s important to consider, people plan on taking Christmas Card photos during their trip, or maybe you are planning on a photo shoot with a Disney Fine Art photography to celebrate a milestone.
For a finishing touch I add some highlighter and blush from Tarte, can you tell I have become addicted to so many of their products?
Eye Makeup For Disney World
I feel like eye makeup is totally subject to your outfit and personal taste. So I would say go with what you are familiar with and have fun! Just in case you were wondering here is what I current throw on before heading out to Disney World.
- Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara
- Urban Decay Naked3 Palette or one of the other palettes I have collected over the last year!
- Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil
- NYX Epic Liquid Eye Liner
Perfect Lips for Disney World
Again lipstick is so different for everyone. I like to bust out the bold red lipstick in honor of Minnie Mouse every once and awhile. For this look I bust out Tarte’s Cream Matte Lip Paint in Bae. More often than not though I just stick with a simple tinted lip balm like the one Burt’s Bees make.
What do you wear on your Disney vacations! I would love to hear, as I am always on the lookout for new and better products!
I have been visiting the parks annually since my parents first brought me at just a year old. Recently I was able to fulfill my life long dream of being a Florida local and moved from the wintery Northeast to the sunshine and fun of central Florida. Now I am hoping to share my Disney knowledge with you so you can have the best vacation possible!
