What Are Legacy Lightsabers?

this …

Legacy Lightsabers are detailed replica hilts of the lightsabers carried by famous characters throughout the Star Wars franchise. These are not toys. They are high-quality collectibles with built-in light and sound effects, designed for display or light use, and modeled as faithfully as possible after what you see on screen. Each hilt is sold in a lined display box and activates with sound and an illuminated blade when you attach a separate blade (sold individually).

Prices generally range from $159.99 up to $400.00 for standard hilts and limited edition sets, not including the blade. A blade adds another $44.99 to $54.99 depending on the size you choose. Some collectible sets come with blades and stands included, which makes the higher price tag a bit easier to swallow.

Where You Can Buy Legacy Lightsabers

Dok Ondar’s Den of Antiques

The primary home of legacy lightsabers is Dok Ondar's Den of Antiquities inside Star Wars Galaxy's Edge. You will recognize the building by the large green alien statue standing outside along with various unusual antiquities. Inside Black Spire Outpost, you will find it near Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. The full rotating wall of lightsaber hilts lives here, and this is where you will find the widest selection, including newer and more obscure additions.

One practical tip: the line at Dok Ondar's gets long, and in the Florida heat, waiting outside is no fun. If at all possible, plan to visit right before the park closes when the line is at its shortest. Cast Members are also very helpful if you have questions about stock or want to see a hilt up close before deciding.

Star Wars Galactic Outpost

If you want to pick up a legacy lightsaber without a park ticket, the Star Wars Galactic Outpost at Disney Springs carries a rotating selection of hilts. The inventory here is typically smaller than what you will find in the park, and newer or limited releases tend to arrive later. It is a great option for guests staying off property or those who want to make a purchase on arrival or departure day without using up theme park time.

Keystone Clothiers

In early 2022, Keystone Clothiers on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard carried the Legacy Lightsaber collectible sets. These sets replace some of the retired hilts and now come with a hilt, blade, and belt clip. These sets do not come in a plastic box like the hilts, but the cardboard box sets are shaped in the same manner. This store no longer sells any Star Wars merchandise.

Disney Store Online

Some legacy hilts, especially limited edition releases and collectible box sets, are available through shopDisney.com. Limited edition runs like the Shin Hati and Baylan Skoll set, the Mara Jade set, and the Ki-Adi-Mundi box set have all been released through the Disney Store online. These tend to sell out quickly, especially on Star Wars Day (May the 4th), so if you have your eye on a limited release, set a reminder and log in early. A virtual queue is common for high-demand drops
