Attractions in Galaxy’s Edge
While Galaxy’s Edge is all about details and immersion, there are of course 2 major attractions. This is the home of Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run and the infamous Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
Star Wars Rise of the Resistance
No trip to Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios would be complete without experiencing Rise of the Resistance. This attraction is one of the most technologically advanced and immersive rides ever created, and it’s a must-see for any super Star Wars fan.
Rise of the Resistance takes you on a thrilling adventure through the galaxy as you join the Resistance in their fight against the First Order. The ride combines elements of a thrilling dark ride, a motion simulator, and even a walk-through experience, creating an unforgettable journey that’s full of surprises and excitement.
The ride begins as you board a transport ship that’s intercepted by the First Order. You’re then taken captive and transported to a Star Destroyer, where you’ll face off against Kylo Ren himself. The visuals and special effects on this ride are truly stunning, and the level of immersion is unmatched by any other attraction at Disney World.
Ride Without The Wait!
Star Wars Rise of the Resistance is one of the most popular attractions in Walt Disney World, and that means it has a long wait time. The average wait time is about 2 hours, (though the longest recorded wait time was 7 hours!!!!) but you can ride this attraction with almost no wait!
Individual Lightning Lanes are available for purchase for Star Wars Rise of the Resistance. See more about Individual Lightning Lanes and other ways to ride this attraction without the wait here.
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
Get ready to operate the biggest hunk of junk in the galaxy! One of the highlights of Galaxy’s Edge is the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride. This immersive attraction puts you in the pilot’s seat of the iconic starship, as you and your crew work together to complete a daring smuggling mission.
The attraction seats 6 where 2 people are pilots, 2 are gunners, and 2 are engineers, but let’s be honest, the pilot is the best position! The ride is incredibly realistic, with stunning visuals and a thrilling storyline that will leave you breathless.
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run on Genie+
The other Star Wars attraction in Galaxy’s Edge, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, is available for Lightning Lanes on Disney’s skip the line feature, Genie+!
Characters in Galaxy’s Edge
One of the most exciting aspects of visiting Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the opportunity to interact with characters from the Star Wars universe. As you explore the land, you’ll encounter a variety of beloved characters from the films, including Rey, Chewbacca, Kylo Ren, and even stormtroopers.
These characters don’t just walk around the land – they actively engage with guests, creating an immersive experience that’s truly unforgettable. You might find yourself being interrogated by a group of Stormtroopers, or having a conversation with Rey about the Resistance. And if you’re lucky, you might even get a chance to take a photo with your favorite character.
Dining in Galaxy’s Edge
No trip to Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios would be complete without trying some of the delicious food and drink options available in the land. Three popular dining options include the Milk Stand, Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, Kat Saka’s Kettle, and Oga’s Cantina.
The Milk Stand
The Milk Stand is a small kiosk that serves up Blue Milk and Green Milk, two iconic drinks from the Star Wars universe. Blue Milk was first seen in the original Star Wars film, and Green Milk was introduced in The Last Jedi. These dairy-free drinks are refreshing and perfect for a hot day in Florida.
Mobile Ordering is available at The Milk Stand!
PRO-TIP: Grown ups can enjoy their Blue and Green Milk with a little something “extra”. You can get the Blue Milk with rum or the Green Milk with tequila!
Docking Bay 7
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo is a quick-service restaurant that offers a variety of unique and delicious dishes inspired by the Star Wars universe. The menu includes items like the Braised Shaak Roast, Fried Endorian Tip-yip, and Smoked Kaadu Ribs. Mobile Ordering is available at Docking Bay 7!
Kat Saka’s Kettle
Kat Saka’s Kettle is a food and beverage stand located in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This stand offers a unique Star Wars-themed snack called Outpost Mix, which is a sweet and savory popcorn blend with a hint of spice, but to us it tastes like spicy fruity pebbles. The stand’s location in the heart of Galaxy’s Edge allows guests to enjoy a snack and beverage while fully immersing themselves in the immersive and fantastical atmosphere of the Star Wars universe.
Oga’s Cantina
Finally, Oga’s Cantina is a must-visit spot for any Star Wars fan. This immersive bar serves up a variety of specialty cocktails, beers, and non-alcoholic drinks in a lively and bustling atmosphere. The bar is run by Oga Garra, a mysterious alien with ties to the criminal underworld. The theming of the bar is outstanding, with unique decorations and a live DJ spinning tunes from across the galaxy.
It’s worth noting that reservations are highly recommended for Oga’s Cantina, as the bar is very popular and tends to fill up quickly. But even if you can’t snag a reservation, there are plenty of other great food and drink options available throughout the land.
PRO-TIP: Reservations are pretty easy to snag if you don’t mind enjoying an adult beverage in the morning! We often find reservations available right at park opening.
Experiences in Galaxy’s Edge
Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios isn’t just about riding attractions and dining on Star Wars-themed food – it’s also about immersive experiences that allow you to create your own personalized souvenirs. Two popular experiences are Savi’s Workshop and the Droid Depot.
Savi’s Workshop
At Savi’s Workshop, guests can build their own custom lightsabers. This experience begins with a brief show that sets the scene and introduces you to the lore of the Jedi and the Force. You then select your preferred lightsaber hilt from a choice of four themes: Peace and Justice, Power and Control, Elemental Nature, and Protection and Defense. Once you’ve made your selection, you’ll move on to a workshop where you’ll build your lightsaber with the help of a guide. The end result is a fully functioning lightsaber that you can take home as a unique and personalized souvenir.
Droid Depot
The Droid Depot is another interactive experience that allows guests to build their own droids. Here, you can choose to build either an R-series or BB-series droid. You’ll start by selecting the components for your droid, including the body, head, and legs. Once you’ve assembled your droid, you can activate it and watch as it comes to life. You can even customize your droid with personality chips that give it unique traits and behaviors.
Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities
Another highlight of Galaxy’s Edge is shopping at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. This shop is filled with unique and rare Star Wars merchandise, including lightsabers, costumes, and collectibles. The shop is also filled with Easter eggs and nods to the Star Wars universe, such as a mural featuring a variety of iconic characters and artifacts.
Whether you’re building a lightsaber, creating a droid, or shopping for Star Wars memorabilia, the experiences at Galaxy’s Edge are all about immersing you in the world of Star Wars. These activities are highly popular, so it’s recommended to make reservations in advance.
Reservations
If you want to participate in building a lightsaber at Savi’s or building a new droid friend at droid depot, be sure to make a reservation! These are very intimate experiences, and not many people will be there with you at one time.
Reservations can be made through My Disney Experience up to 60 days in advance of your trip. Our biggest tip is to be flexible with your dates and times if these experiences are important to you.
PRO-TIP: Can’t get a reservation? Reservation stalking apps like Mouse Dining and Stakeout also work for Disney experiences, like building a lightsaber at Savi’s! Just put in what days and times you would like and it will track the available reservations. When one opens in your window, the app will alert you so you can hop onto your My Disney Experience and snag it! Good luck!

Tell us in the comment what you think is the biggest must-do for a Star Wars fan!
I am a mother of three that has refused to grow up. Adulting is for the birds, so I go to Disney World every chance I get for that magical escape from reality. I believe that Haunted Mansion is the best ride in all of the Disney Parks, and I am fervently in team Happily Ever After for fireworks spectaculars, (sorry, not sorry, Enchanted). Finally, I hope I never grow tired of skipping down Main Street, USA, and my dream come true would be “friends with” the Fairy Godmother in my old age.
