A Tour Around Rix Sports Bar and Grill
I had to throw a beauty shot in to start, it was such a nice night when we came to check out Rix Sports Bar and Grill. When you enter the main lobby area you will want to head left. The restaurant is before the quick service area and will be on your left.
This sports bar looks out on the beautifully redone quick service area at the Coronado.
The restaurant consists of table seating along with a gigantic bar. There are televisions lining all around the restaurant living up to its sports bar name. It’s the perfect spot to come watch a game when traveling at Disney World.
When you are here make sure to look up there is beautiful lighting to be seen all around the whole resort and Rix Sports Grill is no exception.
I actually liked that the table we sat at had this view. It’s looking out into the main atrium where the quick service dining seating is located. It all flows and feels like you are looking out onto an open-air market.
The menu is pretty much packed with just what you expect… bar food! They have nachos, burgers, and a very appealing-looking watchos. Which is a combination of waffle fries and nachos.
Food at Rix Sports Bar and Grill
Here is a look at some of the dishes we have tried at Rix Sports Bar.
Nachos
I just have the urge to go back to eat here by looking at these nachos. I don’t think the picture really does these nachos justice. The nachos were so yummy here at Rix Sports Bar and Grill. The guacamole was top-notch, something we always look out for. The peppers on top had a mild heat and gave the dish a nice punch of flavor. My husband normally hates sour cream but with everything mixed in these nachos, he didn’t say a thing. I could have easily gotten these topped with a protein (which is an option for an additional charge) and shared this with my husband and been perfect full for dinner.
Fried Mozzarella
There isn’t all that much to say about the cheese sticks. These were traditional fried mozzarella and they were eaten very quickly at our table. This is something we would get again.
Queso Fundido Burger
Warning things are about to get very messy. This is a look at the Queso Fundido Burger, which was every bit amazing as you imagined it would be. There is so much cheese on this and yes it did soak down into the bun and make for a mess but it didn’t make it taste any less good. This burger has a side of their waffle fries, which I thought had the same seasoning as the Arby’s curly fries!
California Grilled Chicken Sandwich
Here as look at the California Grilled Chicken Sandwich. This sandwich features pan-seared chicken breast, topped with Tomatoes, Basil, fresh avocado, and roasted garlic aïoli served with sweet potato fries.
Turkey Club Sandwich
This sandwich was packed with Oven Roasted Turkey, Applewood-smoked Bacon, Avocado Aioli, Pepper Jack Cheese, Lettuce, and Tomato on Sour Dough.
Steak and Cheese
This is pretty much a classic Philly cheesesteak with Grilled Peppers and Onions with Provolone Cheese on a Hoagie Roll. I thought the meat was kinda tough and not sliced thinly enough to enjoy. I would definitely say this is a dish to pass on at this restaurant.
Rix Sports Bar and Grill Recommendation
We went into this meal not expecting to be wowed. Typically bar food isn’t all that great, you are really going to drink and watch a game right? Well, Rix Sports Bar and Grill definitely changed both our minds on that front. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. In fact, I would be happy to stop back in just for some more appetizers. If you are looking to watch your favorite team play this is a great spot to watch the game. For big sporting events like the Super Bowl, it’s a no-brainer in going here versus ESPN Club.
