Ever heard Disney speak and just been lost and confused? I know when I first introduced my husband to Disney he was lost with my Disney speak. Disney World Acronyms are everywhere! I would say things like okay let’s park at the TTC and then take the tram over to the MK to ride the TTA! And naturally, my husband (then boyfriend) was very lost. You may come across some of these in the articles you read on this site or in other trip planning pieces.
AA – Audio-Animatronics, these are the characters you see inside rides like audio animatronics
AK – Animal Kingdom
AKL – Animal Kingdom Lodge
AP – Annual Pass
BLT – Bay Lake Tower or Bacon Lettuce Tomato depends if we are talking about sandwiches
BTMRR – Big Thunder Mountain Railroad an attraction at the Magic Kingdom
CM – Cast Member the fabulous people who work at Disney and make the magic happen!
CP – College program are students who are temporary employees at Disney World.
CRT – Cinderella’s Royal Table, featured character dining inside the Magic Kingdom.
DCA – Disney California Adventure, Disney theme park in California
DTD – Downtown Disney now named Disney Springs
DL – Disneyland, California Disney Theme Park
DLP – Disneyland Paris, Disney theme park just outside of Paris France.
DME – Disney’s Magical Express, free transportation Disney provides to and from the airport.
DVC – Disney Vacation Club, Disney’s timeshare
EP – Epcot
ECV – Electric Convenience Vehicle
EMH – Extra Magic Area
FoTLK – Festival of the Lion King, a show at the Animal Kingdom
FW – Future World, the front area of Epcot
GF – Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
HM – Haunted Mansion or Hidden Mickey
LBV – Lake Buena Vista, where Disney World is located
MCO – Orlando International Airport, the airport code stands for the old airforce base it used to be named
MGM – The old name for what is known as Hollywood Studios
MK- Magic Kingdom
MNSSHP – Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, separately ticketed Disney event
MVMCP – Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, separately ticketed Disney event
PoC – Pirates of the Caribbean
SSE – Spaceship Earth, attraction at Epcot
TTA – Tomorrowland Transit Authority, an attraction at the Magic Kingdom
TTC – Transportation and Ticket Center, home of the Magic Kingdom Parking Lot
