Hi Friends! Today we are talking about something very important when it comes to shopping at Disney, booking vacations at Disney, dining at Disney, and basically any other Disney related purchases, and that is SAVINGS! Savings are a huge deal when it comes to the hefty Disney Prices, and lucky for you, I have a few tricks up my sleeves to help you save some money on your next Disney vacation or shopping spree and they all have to do with discounted Disney gift cards! That’s right, you can get discounted gift cards, and trust me these savings do add up! Disney gift cards can be used just like cash at Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Aulani, Disney Stores, Adventures by Disney, Disney Cruise Line, and ShopDisney.com! Plenty of places to rack up the savings!
BJ’s and Sams Club are great places to save on Disney gift cards. The savings at these stores is anywhere from 2%-4%, which may not seem like much, but it adds up quickly when using the gift cards for big purchases, such as resorts or ticket sales! If you are looking to save even more try combining their savings with your credit card cash back. For example, Chase Freedom for the final quarter of 2018 was doing 5% cash back at wholesale clubs.
However, it is important to remember that you do need a membership for BJ’s ($10 a year-online only), and Sams Club ($45 a year-in store and online). Now let’s jump into the savings!
BJ’s Disney Gift Cards
At BJ’s you can buy a $100 Gift Card for $95.99- that is 4.01% savings, $150 Gift Card for $144.99- 3.34% savings, $50 Gift Card for $48.49- 3.02% savings, $500 Gift Card for $484.99- 3.00% savings, $25 Gift Card for $24.49- 2.04% savings.
Sams Club Disney Gift Cards
At Sams Club you can buy a $500 Gift Card for $484.99- 3.00% savings, $150 Gift Card for $142.98- 4.68% savings.
*Prices are subject to change at any time, but these are current as of May 2018*
Target has three different varieties of their REDCard; a prepaid debit card, credit card, and a MasterCard. All of which save you 5% every day in store and online on all purchases and this includes Disney gift cards. Crazy, right?! That means you can score a $100 Disney GC for only $95! Isn’t that amazing! $5 adds up quickly, especially when you are purchasing delicious snacks around the Parks! If you don’t already have one you can get either a Target Redcard Debit or a Target Redcard Credit using these links. Plus it helps support this site!
Ebay is great when it comes to savings on a lot of items, and Disney gift cards are one of them. The discounts are usually around 4%, although you can get lucky and score even bigger discounts sometimes too! However, this is probably my least favorite method because it is not always guaranteed. And what I mean by that is, you can always go to Target or BJ’s and save on the gift cards, but you may not always be able to find a good deal on eBay. Just something to keep in mind when shopping around for savings, be sure to explore all options! I did find this great example of a $100 Disney GC on eBay going for only $91, that is $9 in savings! Which is a bigger saving than some of the other options, but again it is not always guaranteed!
This is a credit card through Chase bank ($0 annual fee), that allows you to earn points that can be used towards rewards for every purchase made. You can also get discounts throughout the parks while using your Disney Chase card, and don’t forget about the exclusive Chase member character meet and greet locations throughout Walt Disney World and Disneyland! For more information read The Perks of Disney Visa Credit Card.
But, you may be wondering how you can get a Gift Card by using the Disney Chase Visa. Here’s how: for eligible purchases around the Disney parks you get “Disney Reward Dollars“-1% back on all purchases for being a Disney Visa Rewards Cardholder. These Disney Reward Dollars can be redeemed for a “Disney Redemption Card”- which is essentially a Gift Card that never expires. Basically, you spend money at Disney using the Disney Visa Rewards Card, points add up, you redeem the points for a Disney “gift card”! It’s a win-win! You can also redeem your Disney Reward Dollars for movie tickets for select Disney Movies, onboard activities on a Disney Cruise, and they can be used towards theme park tickets!
Head on over to Raise.com to buy up some discounted Target gift cards. This is a legit way to buy gift cards from others at a discount, they are verified and any purchase comes with a one year money back guarantee!

There you have it, some great ways to save on your next Disney vacation or even just your next Disney day! I hope this information was helpful when it comes to saving on all things Disney! My favorite and I think the most rewarding way, to use these discount Disney gift cards is on dining and merchandise purchases, especially when the discount Disney gift card is combined with an Annual Passholder discount, that is a huge amount of savings!
However, they are also extremely beneficial when it comes to booking your Disney Cruise or Adventures by Disney trip because it is so hard to come by discounts of either of these! Remember that the gift cards can be used just like cash all throughout WDW and Disneyland! Don’t forget this article when you are planning your next trip!
My passion for the Disney Parks has been growing strong since ever since I can remember. Being a Florida native, Disney has always been right around the corner, and I take pride in the fact that I know the parks inside and out! I love sharing my insight on all things Disney related, in hopes of helping others have the most magical vacation ever.
