Best of the Fest: EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival 2022

Best of the Fest: EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival 2022

It’s that time of year again! It’s both our favorite festival and EPCOT’s longest festival, the Food & Wine Festival! There are, count them, 28 festival booths this year! With so much food to choose from you’re going to need some help picking what is worth your money and your stomach space! Don’t worry about cramming it all in one day, because this festival runs from July 14th all the way until November 19th!

How Much Does EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival Cost?

All of EPCOT’s festivals are included in your park ticket price, and there is no additional cost to roam around the different kiosks or enjoy the entertainment at the festivals. Speaking of entertainment, one of the things that Epcot’s Food and Wine is most famous for, besides the food, of course, is the Eat to the Beat Concert series that it hosts in the American pavilion. Depending on the day that you’re there, you can see a series of local bands or even big names from the 90s and 00s like Boys II Men, Baha Men, Hoobastank,  or Joey Fatone from N*SYNC! See the full lineup for the Eat to the Beat Concert Series here.

WDW Vacation Tips Best of the Fest!

Appleseed Orchard

This is your booth for all things apple! The Food and Wine Festival goes into the fall, so celebrate the season with fall’s most versatile fruit.

Best Treats & Eats!

Cider Flight … $10.00

We love a flight in EPCOT! It’s the best way to try a little of everything without overindulging. Let’s just see that this is the first of many flights. This flight will get you 4 oz. of Bold Rock Imperial Apple Hard Cider, Original Sin Hard Cider Macintosh, and Blake’s Hard Cider Co. Saint Cheri Bourbon Barrel Aged Cherry.

Australia

G’day mate! Throw a few shrimp on the barby! No, really, we’re here for the shrimp!

Best Treats & Eats!

Grilled Sweet and Spicy Bush Berry Shrimp…$6.50

These shrimp are huge in size and in flavor with pineapple, peppers, onions, and snap peas.

Belgium

I know what you’re thinking… How can we mention Belgium and not suggest you get a Belgium waffle? We think the festivals are a great time to expand your palette and try new flavors. You know exactly what a waffle tastes like, so push your boundaries a bit!

Best Treats & Eats of Belgium

Beer Braised Beef… $5.75

Grab this little beauty and find some shade, because this is a hot and heavy dish for the middle of Florida, but oh, is it delicious! Frankly, they had me at “beef”, but add in cheesy mashed potatoes that almost have a bacon-y flavor to them, yes please! Factor in how affordable it is and you have a festival must-have.

Beer Flight… $10

This beer flight will get you 4 oz. St. Bernardus Witbier, Belgian Abbey Ale, and a Delirium Red Fruit Beer. This is a great shot to try something new!

Brazil

Feel the Samba with all of these Latin flavors, just don’t ask me how to pronounce any of them.

Best Treats & Eats at Brazil!

Pão de Queijo… $4.75

Do you like cheese? Do you like bread? Of course, you do! Then you will love this. Break open the warm bread to find ooey-gooey cheese inside.

Brew-Wing

Best of the Fest: EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival 2022 4

Who doesn’t love a good chicken wing? Chicken wings and beer are like a match made in heaven. We could just sit at this booth all day…

Best Treats & Eats!

Sticky Wings with Peanut Sauce and Grape Gel…$7.50

It’s peanut butter and jelly wings! Oh mylanta! That’s a level of crazy that you just have to try. It combines the salty and sweet with fried chicken. How can you go wrong?

Cider Flight… 10.00

With this flight, you get 4 oz. of Bold Rock Honeycrisp Hard Cider, Woodchuck Guava ‘Nother Hard Cider, Blake’s Hard Cider Co. Strawberry Lemonade Hard Cider. We really liked that in addition to a classic apple, there were two very unique hard ciders.

Canada

“O, Canada! We stand on guard for thee!” Yeah we do, to guard these delicious dishes from ever leaving the festival. Back year after year is their soup and filet mignon, but we are just as excited to eat in Canada this year as we have been every year!

Best Treats & Eats!

“Le Cellier” Wild Mushroom Beef Filet Mignon… $9.25

There is so much fancy deliciousness going on with this dish. A lot of people praise the cheddar cheese soup, but for us, it’s just never cool enough to enjoy it! This filet mignon is topped with a decadent truffle butter, which brings it to our best of the fest! But unfortunately, it’ll cost ya! This dish is among the most expensive on our list.

China

We’re a little bummed that there were some serious changes to some of the dishes from previous years, and we don’t really think they were for the better, but we still found a best of the fest here in China!

Best Treats & Eats!

Dandan Noodles… $8.25

This bowl of noodles combines spicy pork with sichuan sauce, peanut butter, sesame and green onion. We love a little spice, and anything with peanut sauce. And who doesn’t love Chinese food??

Coastal Eats

This booth is really an enigma. This is a seafood booth filled with seafood. And yet, so many “non-seafood” people can’t help but go gaga for this savory, decadent dip! It’s truly a must try.

Best Treats & Eats!

Baked Scampi Dip…$6.00

You don’t even have to be a seafood person to really enjoy this dip. It is loaded with shrimp and scallops all rolling around in cheese and topped with panko crumbs, served with a baguette for dipping.

Earth Eats

Reserve your prejudices – This is an all vegan booth. No, don’t run away! Earth Eats teaches us that vegan doesn’t have to be oddly textured, bland, and gross! These dishes all explode with flavor combinations that will change how you look at vegan food.

Best Treats & Eats!

Impossible Meatball…$5.75

Disney describes this dish as a vegan meatball served on an herbed polenta with a rustic puttanesca sauce, and basil pesto. Who knew vegan food could be so satisfying!

Strawberry Freeze…$13.00

The cocktail is perfect for a hot EPCOT afternoon. The mix of Twinings Lemon & Ginger Herbal tea with the cucumber and mint vodka is incredibly refreshing.

Flavors from Fire

Whenever we read this booth title we just hear the puffer fish from Finding Nemo yelling “RING OF FIRE”. Anyway! This booth celebrates summer with a chef’s take on campfire dishes.

Best Treats & Eats!

Smoked Corned Beef…$5.50

You won’t walk away hungry after this dish, that’s for sure! The smoked corn beef is served on top of crispy potatoes and then topped with cheese curds, pickled onions, and beer-cheese fondue. At only $5.50, this is the most affordable beef dish on the list!

France

Am I the only one who can’t seem to say any of these dishes without the bad accent of Chef Louie from The Little Mermaid? Just me? Ok. The France kiosk is consistent year after year bringing fancy and interesting eats.

Best Treats & Eats!

Croissant aux Escargots…$7.25

Best of the Fest: EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival 2022 5

When in Rome, or more accurately, France, you do as they do! How many chances will you have in life to try escargot? Year after year I always heard people rave over this dish. I finally braved it up, preparing for slimy snails, but really it’s just a croissant with a whole lot of salty garlic. Thankfully no hint of slime.

Crème Brûlée au Grand Marnier…$5.50

Best of the Fest: EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival 2022 6

Is there a more delicious dessert that is simultaneously fancy and simple? Even better, this dessert has alcohol! Hey! You’re on vacation! But seriously, no sharing this one with the kiddos.

Germany

Pull on your lederhosen, it’s time to visit Germany! Hearty eats and beer are the base of German kiosks throughout the years, and this year is no different.

Best Treats & Eats!

Apple Strudel…$4.25

Best of the Fest: EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival 2022 7

German desserts are severely underrated! They are filled with butter, carbs, salt, and love. Bite into a bit of apple heaven with this warm apple pastry!

Beer Flight…$10.00

Did you really think that you would eat in Germany and not expect us to recommend a beer flight?! It’s almost a requirement! In this flight, you will get 4 oz. each of 3 very hard-to-pronounce (and spell) German beers. The names are certainly authentic!

Greece

Enjoy the tastes of the Mediterranean in Greece with high-quality spices, oils, and olives. Opa!

Best Treats & Eats!

Lamb Gyro…$6.50

It’s not the most unexpected dish to come out of the Greece booth, but it’s just so good! It’s all about the tzatziki sauce, it really brings everything together.

Wine Flight…$8.50

You may not think of Greece when you think of wines, but there is a nice selection of different wines at this booth. You will get a pour of Mylonas Assyrtiko white wine, Zoe rose, and Kir-Yianni Naoussa Xinomavro dry red.

Hawai’i

This booth is a Hawaiian roller coaster ride that is a tidal wave of flavor. We struggled to choose what NOT to put on this list because it felt unfair to include an entire booth!

Best Treats & Eats!

Kālua Pork Slider…$5.75

If you get nothing else at this festival you have to get this!! Pork roasted low and slow on top of sweet Hawaiian roll with sweet and sour pineapple chutney and spicy mayonnaise creates a savory and refreshing sandwich that is slap your momma good!

SPAM Musubi Nigiri…$6.00

Okay, this falls under the “it’s so strange that you have to try it category”. It’s SPAM sushi! Literally. SPAM is cooked in a teriyaki sauce and is wrapped up in sticky rice and nori, and then topped in spicy mayonnaise and eel sauce.

Florida Orange Groves Sparkling Pineapple Wine, St. Petersburg, FL…$10.00

This little dose of sweet sparkly is just what you need to go with your pork slider. #Perfectcombo. One word – YUM.

Hops & Barley

Best of the Fest: EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival 2022 8

For a booth named after the ingredients of beer, you know what we’re going to recommend, don’t you?  Cake! Oh yeah, and beer.

Best Treats & Eats!

Freshly Baked Carrot Cake…$4.50

What more is there to say? It’s a delicious carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.

Beer Flight…$10.00

Now, hear us out! I know there are a lot of beer flights on this list, but none are more unique than the beer flight at Hops & Barely. Plus, it would be a crime to not have beer at a place called Hops & Barley… In this flight you will get 4 oz. of 81Bay Brewing Co. Strawberry and Lime Wheat Ale, Lexington Brewing & DistillingCo. Kentucky Pumpkin Barrel Ale, and Lord Hobo Brewing Boom Sauce DIPA.

India

Sorry, not sorry, India. Can’t do it. Not much different than your typical Indian takeout with things like Tikka Masala, so we would just skip this one.  No real winners here that are “must-have”.

Ireland

Tucked right next to all the fun of the Rose and Crown pub in the United Kingdom is a booth not to miss.

Best Treats & Eats!

Warm Chocolate Pudding Cake…$4.25

Best of the Fest: EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival 2022 9

What could make a chocolate cake feel like it came from Ireland? A warm cream sauce is poured over top of the cake made from Bailey’s Irish Cream! Rich, warm, and decadent.

Kilkenny Irish Cream Ale…$5.00

If you want a nice and heavy beer made from the same makers of Guinness, this is the draft for you. It has a nice yeasty, bread taste with notes of caramel

Italy

*Sigh*

We’re sorry to all of the Italian food loving people out there, but the Italy booth is just… not good. It never is. The Italy pavilion is always Bellissimo, but the Italy booths at the Epcot festivals are just… no.

Japan

The Japan booth has had some identity changes over the years. While we miss the sushi of yesteryears, we had so much fun trying items that we would never be brave enough to order in a restaurant.

Best Treats & Eats!

Takoyaki…$8.50

If you’re going with friends, order this and have them try a bite before they get the chance to Google it. It’s battered fried octopus with green onion and cabbage, drizzled with Tonkatsu sauce, bonito flakes, and nori. It’s one of those dishes that is delicious if you don’t know what you’re eating.

Kenya

Enjoy traditional Kenyan food and beer. Not sure what Kenyan food tastes like? Here’s your chance to find out.

Best Treats & Eats!

Kenyan Coffee Barbecued Beef Tenderloin…$6.00

This hearty dish is oh so satisfying. Tender beef is served atop sweet potato and corn mealie pap and kachumbari slaw. This taster plate feels almost like a full meal. Remember to spread your festival eats over hours or days!

Mac & Eats

The ultimate soul food, macaroni and cheese is on the menu! And this is not your grandma’s cheezy mac! Who cares if it’s hotter than Hades? It’s golden delicious.

Best Treats & Eats!

Cowboy Macaroni and Cheese…$6.75

Buckle up, this is going to be a wild ride. It’s macaroni and cheese and … wait for it… smoked pork belly, brisket burnt ends, pickled peppers, onion straws, AND barbecue aioli. Oh yeah!

Mexico

Mexico always delivers an assortment of authentic tacos and margaritas that are so far from the frozen premade margs of your local franchise restaurant!

Best Treats & Eats!

Tostada de Barbacoa…$8.00

Barbacoa beef on a fried corn tortilla with chipotle black beans, salsa verde, Mexican crema, queso fresco and chives… how could you go wrong??

Blood Orange Charm Margarita…$12.50

This drink has so many flavors going on that it seems like it shouldn’t work, but it does! Get ready, this marg has Blanco tequila, blood orange aperitif, blackcurrant infused vodka, and prosecco served on the rocks with pink peppercorns and sweet dried chili salt rim.

Shimmering Sips

Remember, when being fancy, pinky out! There’s nothing fancier than various mimosas!

Best Treats & Eats!

Guava Mousse on a Sugar Cookie…$4.75

This mouse has a light, almost cheesecake vibe with such a light tropical flavor. Pair that with the coconut-lime whipped cream topping, and you have a great dessert for a hot day!

Key Lime Mimosa…$6.50

The guava mousse of the dessert is screaming for something bubbly and citrus, The Key Lime Mimosa fits the bill! This is a Key Lime sparkling wine with a splash of cranberry juice.

Spain

We really wanted to love Spain more than we did. Frankly, the main reason why they made our list is because amongst all of the beef in the booths, there are few that celebrate seafood.

Best Treats & Eats!

Seafood Salad…$6.25

Attention all seafood lovers! Here’s your dish! If you are at all seafood adverse, back away slowly. This is shrimp, bay scallops, mussels, extra virgin olive oil, white balsamic vinegar, and smoked paprika.

The Alps

Where are my cheese lovers at? This booth is cheese, cheese, and more cheese!

Best Treats & Eats!

Warm Raclette Swiss Cheese… $5.50 each

This is different! Okay, we chose the same dish served two different ways. We just couldn’t choose!

The first is warm Raclette swiss cheese with Alpine ham, baby potatoes, cornichons and baguette.

The second is warm Raclette swiss cheese with Riesling-poached pears, red wine-braised figs, candied pecans, honey and cranberry toast.

ALL THE CHEESE!

The Fry Basket

While most of the booths offer more meal-like options, the fry basket offers different variations of America’s favorite side dish.

Best Treats & Eats!

Fry Flight…$7.50

Need we say more? It’s a flight of different french fries, you can’t go wrong! The first set of fries is sea salt and malt vinegar, the next are barbecued bacon fries with smoked aioli, and the last set of fries are sweet potato casserole fries with candied pecans, toasted marshmallow cream and caramel whisky.

The Noodle Exchange

Bring on the noods! This kiosk serves up traditional pho in beef, shrimp, and tofu options.

Best Treats & Eats!

Traditional Spicy Vietnamese Beef Pho…$5.50

For the first time ever, Disney said spicy and it’s actually spicy! And we love it! Tender beef in a traditional pho is an absolute must have this year!

The Swanky Saucy Swine

Steer clear if you’re Kosher, this booth is all about pork! Pork rinds, pork ribs, pork shoulder, and even a cocktail with…. pork!

Best Treats & Eats!

Grilled Pork Shoulder Lettuce Wrap …$5.25

If you want barbecue, but don’t want anything too heavy, we found the dish for you! Grilled pork shoulder with charred corn salsa, pickled red onions, and cilantro-lime crema, all encased in a lettuce wrap is that perfect mixture of light and fresh with barbecue goodness.
