When you think of Walt Disney World, you might immediately think of the thrilling rides, the delicious food, and the stunning fireworks displays. But one of the most magical aspects of a Disney vacation is the chance to meet your favorite characters.
Whether you’re young or young at heart, there’s nothing quite like coming face-to-face with Mickey Mouse, Cinderella, or Buzz Lightyear. These beloved characters have been a part of our lives for generations, and meeting them in person can be a truly unforgettable experience. As you stroll through the parks, you’ll likely spot characters in various locations. Some may be walking around, interacting with guests and posing for photos. Others may be stationed at designated meet-and-greet locations, where you can queue up to meet them.
No matter where you encounter them, meeting characters can be a highlight of your Disney vacation. It’s a chance to feel like a kid again, to suspend your disbelief and immerse yourself in the magic of the moment.
Different Types of Meet and Greets
Character meet and greets are not created equal in Disney World. There are traditional meet and greets where the characters are at a designated place and you have a one on one interaction, distance meet and greets where you wave at the characters and take selfies, and then character dining experiences.

Is Meeting Disney World Characters Worth the Wait?
For many guests, meeting characters is a bucket-list item. They may have grown up watching Disney movies, reading Disney books, and dreaming of visiting the parks. Meeting characters brings those childhood fantasies to life, and creates memories that will last a lifetime. So, if you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World, be sure to take some time to meet the characters. You never know what kind of magic they might bring to your vacation.
I am a mother of three that has refused to grow up. Adulting is for the birds, so I go to Disney World every chance I get for that magical escape from reality. I believe that Haunted Mansion is the best ride in all of the Disney Parks, and I am fervently in team Happily Ever After for fireworks spectaculars, (sorry, not sorry, Enchanted). Finally, I hope I never grow tired of skipping down Main Street, USA, and my dream come true would be “friends with” the Fairy Godmother in my old age.
