Snacks in Disney World are more than just fuel, they are part of the Disney experience! But beware, not all snacks are created equal. Some will leave you feeling like a happy camper, while others will have you wishing you never left your hotel room. So grab your mouse ears and your appetite, because we're about to show you the best and worst of Disney World snacks. Just remember, it's all in good fun (and good taste).
We’re going to run down the list of 5 things not to get in Disney World and what to get instead!
1. Popcorn
When it comes to Disney snacks, popcorn is a classic. But let's be real, plain popcorn is just not going to cut it. Luckily, Disney has got you covered with a variety of flavored popcorn options throughout the parks.
If you find yourself in Epcot, make sure to stop by the Canada Pavilion for a taste of their famous maple popcorn. The sweet and savory combination of real maple syrup and popcorn is a match made in snack heaven. And if you're looking for something a little more indulgent, head over to the Germany Pavilion for their caramel popcorn. The caramel is buttery and rich, making it the perfect treat for those with a sweet tooth.
But the real popcorn gem can be found in Galaxy's Edge at Kat Saka's Kettle. The Outpost Mix is a unique blend of savory, spicy, and sweet flavors that will leave your taste buds dancing. The popcorn is coated in a mixture of spices, including chili powder and cumin, and is then topped with a sweet glaze made of coconut oil and sugar. It's a snack that is truly out of this world.
So, the next time you find yourself in need of a snack break, skip the plain popcorn and opt for one of these delicious flavored options instead. Your taste buds will thank you.
2. Basic Barbeque

Barbeque lovers rejoice, because Disney has some seriously delicious options for you. If you're on the hunt for some tasty BBQ, look no further than Flaming Tree Barbecue in Disney's Animal Kingdom. This restaurant offers classic BBQ dishes like pulled pork and ribs, but their standout dish is the BBQ macaroni and cheese. This cheesy and decadent dish is topped with tender BBQ pork and is a must-try for any mac and cheese fan.
But if you're feeling a bit more adventurous, head over to Animal Kingdom's own "hole in the wall" restaurant, Smiling Crocodile. Here, you'll find a truly unique BBQ creation: the BBQ pork jelly donut sandwich. This sandwich is made with a warm and fluffy jelly donut that is sliced in half and filled with succulent BBQ pork. It may sound like an odd combination, but the sweet and savory flavors work together perfectly to create a one-of-a-kind dish.
Of course, there are other great places to grab some BBQ in Disney World as well. Flame Tree Barbecue in Animal Kingdom offers a variety of smoked meats and BBQ sauces, while The Polite Pig in Disney Springs offers modern twists on classic BBQ dishes like smoked chicken wings and brisket.
No matter where you choose to indulge in some BBQ, be sure to bring your appetite. These dishes are not for the faint of heart, but they are definitely worth the calories.
3. Vanilla Ice Cream

While plain vanilla ice cream may be a classic flavor, there are so many other delicious and creative ways to enjoy this frozen treat at Walt Disney World. Luckily, the parks and resorts offer plenty of options to satisfy any ice cream lover's cravings.
If you're in the mood for something indulgent, head over to Dino-Bite Snacks in Disney's Animal Kingdom for their ice cream cookie sandwich. This dessert features two freshly baked cookies sandwiching a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream, creating the perfect combination of chewy and creamy textures.
For a taste of France, head to the France Pavilion in Epcot and stop by L'Artisan des Glaces for their Croque Glace. This sweet sandwich is made with warm brioche bread and filled with rich and creamy vanilla ice cream. The whole thing is then grilled and drizzled with chocolate sauce for a decadent and unforgettable dessert.
If you're a fan of peanut butter and jelly, you won't want to miss the PB&J milkshake at Hollywood Scoops in Hollywood Studios. This thick and creamy shake is made with vanilla ice cream, peanut butter, and strawberry jelly, creating a nostalgic and delicious flavor combination.

But if you're really looking to go all out, head over to Beaches and Cream Soda Shop at Disney's Beach Club Resort for the massive Kitchen Sink Sundae. This over-the-top dessert is meant to be shared with a group and features eight scoops of ice cream topped with all kinds of indulgent toppings, including whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and even a whole can of whipped cream! It's the perfect way to treat yourself after a long day of exploring the parks.
Okay, if you are an ice cream purist who only wants vanilla, well we can’t get mad at you. Did you know that vanilla was Walt Disney’s favorite ice cream, too? He said it was the perfect blank canvas. So, remember, canvas needs color! You can get simple sundaes at places like Storybook Treats or the Plaza Ice Cream parlor in the Magic Kingdom.
So, while vanilla ice cream may be a classic, there are so many other delicious and creative ways to enjoy this frozen treat at Walt Disney World. From ice cream cookie sandwiches to massive sundaes, there's something for every ice cream lover.
4. Pineapple Dole Whip

Ah, the classic pineapple dole whip. We know you’re going to come at us for this but…
Pineapple Dole Whip has been a staple at Disney World for what feels like forever, and for good reason - it's delicious! But let's be real, it's time to branch out and try some new flavors. Don't get me wrong, the original dole whip is a classic, but there are so many other tasty options to choose from.

If you're looking for a fun twist on the classic dole whip, head over to Sunshine Tree Terrace in Magic Kingdom for one of their dole whip floats. These refreshing treats feature a swirl of dole whip floating in a cup of juice or soda, creating a sweet and tangy flavor explosion.
For something a bit more whimsical, check out Storybook Treats in Magic Kingdom for their specialty cones. In the past, we had the Rapunzel cone that featured lemon dole whip and edible flowers, while the Snow White cone is topped with a white chocolate bow and blue cone. These cones are almost too pretty to eat... almost.
But if you're looking for a more adult-friendly option, head over to the Polynesian Village Resort for dole whip with alcohol. You can enjoy a refreshing piña colada made with dole whip and rum or a spicy jalapeño margarita made with dole whip and tequila.

And if you're feeling adventurous, check out Swirls on the Water at Disney Springs. This stand offers unique and wild flavors like cookie dough, strawberry cheesecake, and even habanero lime! Who knows, you might just find your new favorite flavor.
So, while the classic pineapple dole whip will always hold a special place in our hearts (and taste buds), it's time to explore all the delicious and creative dole whip options that Disney World has to offer. Who knows, you might just find a new favorite flavor!
5. Pizza

Pizza is a beloved comfort food that's available throughout Disney World. While there are plenty of options to choose from, not all pizzas are created equal. If you're looking for the real deal, it's best to avoid the puffy pizzas at places like Restaurantosaurus and PizzeRizzo or the flatbreads at Pinocchio Village Haus. These may be convenient options, but they often fall short when it comes to delivering authentic, delicious pizza.

If you're looking for a pizza experience that will transport you to the streets of Naples, head to Via Napoli in the Italy Pavilion at Epcot. This restaurant boasts wood-fired ovens, fresh ingredients, and an extensive menu of delicious pizza options. From classic Margherita pizza to the indulgent Quattro Formaggi pizza, there's something for every pizza lover at Via Napoli.
In addition to Via Napoli, there are a few other pizza spots worth mentioning. Blaze Fast-Fire'd Pizza in Disney Springs allows guests to customize their own personal pizzas, so you can create a pie that's perfect for you. And if you're looking for a quick slice on-the-go, check out PizzeRizzo in Hollywood Studios. While their full pies may not be the best, their pizza slices are a tasty and convenient option.
So, if you're in the mood for pizza at Disney World, remember to skip the puffy, lackluster options and head straight to the authentic and delicious pizza at Via Napoli. Your taste buds will thank you!
Tell us in the comments what your favorite Disney snack is!

I am a mother of three that has refused to grow up. Adulting is for the birds, so I go to Disney World every chance I get for that magical escape from reality. I believe that Haunted Mansion is the best ride in all of the Disney Parks, and I am fervently in team Happily Ever After for fireworks spectaculars, (sorry, not sorry, Enchanted). Finally, I hope I never grow tired of skipping down Main Street, USA, and my dream come true would be "friends with" the Fairy Godmother in my old age.
