The Turf Club Dining Review

The Turf Club Dining Review

Tucked away in the heart of Saratoga Springs the Turf Club Bar and Grill is a hidden gem. It’s a little hard to find this place if you don’t know where it is. The restaurant sits behind the main pool area. You would park at the same spot as if you were playing golf at Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. Or if you are staying at the resort you can get there by walking through the quick service dining area to the back of the building. Once inside you will see the restaurant is modeled after a racetrack clubhouse. The inside is filled with dark wood paneling and racing memorabilia.

A Tour Around The Turf Club

View looking out at the golf course from the Turf Club.

We were seated next to the giant windows of the inside of the restaurant that overlooks out onto the patio and Lake Buena Vista golf course. We enjoyed watching the boats from Disney Springs go by during the meal.

The Turf Club Dishes

The following are a few of the dishes we have tried from their menu.

Bread Service

The Turf Club Dining Review 3

Your meal includes a bread service to start, gone are your basic plain dinner rolls. The rolls are a mix of parmesan cheese, oregano, basil, and parsley, served with sea salt topped butter.

French Onion Soup

Classical French Onion Soup. Beef Broth, Julienne Onions, Melted Swiss and Gruyère Cheese with Croutons.

Above is the Classical French Onion Soup. This soup is comprised of Beef Broth, Julienne Onions, Melted Swiss, and Gruyère Cheese with Croutons. Pretty standard French Onion Soup, it was good but I did think it could have had a little more flavor.

Sadly this is no longer the French Onion soup they served below is a picture of the new French Onion soup and well it’s just not for me. It was packed with an overload of onions and the cheese… I don’t know about you but I order this soup for the cheese that is melted over the top of this soup and it is just lacking. I hope to see them bring back a more traditional French Onion soup.

Ceaser Salad

The Turf Club Dining Review 5

One of our starters was a basic Ceaser salad. Nothing overly exciting here but it does pair well with the meal to follow.

Braised Lamb Tagliatelle

The Turf Club Dining Review 6

Branching out I opted to go with what I would say is the most unique item on the menu. This dish is comprised of Braised Lamb Shank, House-made Tagliatelle Pasta, Peas, Crispy Potato Straws, Whipped Goat Cheese, and Sherry Gastrique.

It was really filling, rich, and a very heavy dish. Needless to say, I didn’t even come close to finishing this and had to take leftovers home. That being said the flavors are packed into this dish and it was very good it’s hard to go wrong with any dish that features goat cheese!

Crispy-fried Chicken

Crispy-fried Chicken. House-made Garlic-Herb Macaroni and Cheese and Haricot Vert Almandine.

The Crispy-fried Chicken comes with House-made Garlic-Herb Macaroni and Cheese and Haricot Vert Almandine.OMG Mac and Cheese! I wish they had a dish of just this cheesy goodness. The chicken was also a solid choice, super moist with great seasoning in the breading.

Rancher’s Reserve Prime Rib

Rancher's Reserve Prime Rib

The Rancher’s Reserve Prime Rib comes with Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes, Broccolini, and Au Jus. Steak and potatoes I knew I couldn’t go wrong with this dish. It was fantastic and the potatoes and broccolini were a perfect pairing.

Grilled Filet Mignon

The Turf Club Dining Review 7

This is a 6-oz Center-cut Filet served with, Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Smoked Vidalia Onion, Romanesco, Baby Carrots, and Cabernet-Fig Jus. While this isn’t the best steak with have had at Disney World it was a solid option and an enjoyable meal.

The Turf Club Recommendation

The location doesn’t put this restaurant on the map as must do Disney World dining. However, both my husband and I walked away thoroughly enjoying our meal. If you are hanging out in the Disney Springs area and this is just a short boat ride away and free of the crazy hustle and bustle of Springs. I think that is another thing my husband and I really enjoyed at the Turf Club was the nice quiet meal.

If you are interested in booking a reservation for The Turf Club you can do so through My Disney Experience. We find reservations are rather easy to make here last-minute so you don’t have to rush when booking this restaurant.
