If you want to wear it proud, then we recommend stocking up on some gear that shouts out it’s my birthday! Here are the three main ways we like to display that we are celebrating a birthday at Disney World.
The Disney Birthday Button
When you stop in at the park for the day head to guest relations first and pick up your it’s my birthday button! They are FREE to all guests and by wearing it you can expect you are in for some fun character interactions throughout the day.
If standard buttons aren’t really your thing you can always swing over to Parkbound Buttons and pick up some of their fantastic options!
Disney Birthday Hats
It’s all about the ears here at Disney World. So why not pick up some birthday Mickey ears? You can find some official ones inside the parks or you can order some custom ones off of Etsy.
Disney Birthday Shirts
If buttons and hats really aren’t your style there is always the option of wearing a birthday shirt! Check out this one that’s perfect for a Disney birthday day.

If your little princess is celebrating a birthday why not bring her to get pampered for the day? At Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique your princess will be transformed into a proper Disney princess complete with hair, make-up, nails and the all-important glitter.
There are two Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutiques, one in Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom and one at Disney Springs. I recommend the Cinderella Castle location for a birthday; the setting completes the whole experience. Call 407-WDW-STYLE or (407) 939-7895 to make an appointment.
Plus now adults can get in on the makeover fun. Disney’s new Character Couture packages, aka adult Disney makeover, offer sophisticated hairstyles, as well as detailed makeup and nail designs inspired by Disney characters.
Services are available at salons at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels including Ivy Trellis at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, La Vida Salon at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, and Salon by the Springs at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
My Disney Girl’s Perfectly Princess Tea Party
My Disney Girl’s Perfectly Princess Tea Party is the ultimate mommy daughter experience. The event is at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, this tea party is 90 minutes of living like a true princess. You and your daughter will be sprinkled with rose petals, served apple “tea” in china cups, showered with gifts like a beautiful doll and scrapbook kit, and entertained with stories and song by Princess Aurora.
This experience is offered on select mornings and typically begins at 10:30 AM. Advance reservations are highly recommended and can be made up to 180 days prior to your visit. For reservations or other inquiries, please call (407) WDW-MYTEA or (407) 939-6983.
Let Everyone Know it’s your Birthday for Some Special Surprises
As we mentioned earlier, no matter where you go we recommend letting people know it’s your birthday. Why? Because Disney has special surprises in store for people they know are celebrating. Some of the extra-special treatment includes confetti, a cupcake, and a personalized note.
Order a Custom Cake
You can order a custom cake and have it delivered to your table at any of the Walt Disney World table service restaurants! Cakes can be ordered with just 72 hours notice, but Advanced Dining Reservations must have already been made. The cake hotline is 407-827-2253.
If you don’t have 72 hours until your stop fear not! Disney also has an on-demand cake option, this is a six-inch Celebrate Today! cakes (both chocolate and vanilla) that feed four to six people. If you are looking to go this route just simply order one upon arriving at most of Disney’s table-service restaurants.
Head to a Disney Senses Spa
I don’t know about you but I would take a spa day on any vacation! So why not splurge and mark the occasion when you are celebrating something special like your birthday?
Disney has two full-service spas on Disney property, one at the Grand Floridian and the second at Saratoga Springs. For a full listing of spa service, you can browse through the offerings on Disney’s website.
Take Some Pictures to Mark the Occasion
Photopass is a fantastic free service offered by Disney. You are never obligated to buy any of the pictures Disney takes and they will even snap a few shots on your personal camera for you as well.
If you are looking for some extra fancy pictures I recommend heading to the lobby of a deluxe Disney resort. Here they can get a portrait of you and your entire party. Plus the backdrop at all the Disney resorts are picture perfect.
In Room Celebration
If you’re up for a splurge you can do a special Birthday in room Surprise Celebration! The ultimate package comes at a steep price of $550! Previously I had never understood why people opted for these celebrations but after experiencing one on our honeymoon I see why they are well worth the cost!
The ultimate package includes: Two Mickey & friends themed “Happy Birthday!” balloons and a Mickey chalkboard decorate the grand party, while bins from the characters serve as extravagant gifts. Goofy’s bin contains some “goofy” accessories for the party, while Minnie’s bin has plenty of delectable treats to share – including a freshly baked cake! Pluto provided his favorite treats and cuddly blanket, while Donald has everything needed to bring the party out to the pool. And, when ready to go on adventures, Mickey left a birthday hat to bring the party wherever they go! It’ll be a birthday memory that they will cherish for a lifetime.
One of these birthdays I have to get around to trying this celebration out for myself because it sounds delicious!
