In the not so distant past, this restaurant went under a complete renovation and menu change. I had previously fallen in love with their classic dishes such as the strip steak and potato encrusted red snapper. So in celebration of our first wedding anniversary, we decided to splurge and head back to the Flying Fish. Here is my Flying Fish Dining Review.
A quick warning before we get started the menu was different when we arrived compared to when we looked online. They have a seasonal menu and it does constantly change.

A Tour Around Flying Fish

A look inside Flying Fish.

A peek into the kitchen at Flying Fish.
The Flying Fish actually has an open kitchen so you can watch in as they prepare everyone’s meals.

A look at the menu from when we visited in October.
Flying Fish Dishes
The following is a few of the dishes we have tried from their menu.

Bread from Flying Fish
They started us off with a basket of seaweed bread. It was a really great compliment to the food and you really couldn’t taste the seaweed.

Grilled Baby Romaine, Pecorino, Buttermilk Crème Fraîche Dressing, Olive Oil-marinated Vegetables
We decided to start our meal with a salad which they happily split onto two plates for us. The salad was good, however, I wasn’t crazy about the dressing it had a lot of dill flavoring and that just isn’t my cup of tea.

Snake River Farms Wagyu Strip Loin
We were shocked at how large this steak was when it came out and while it’s hard to tell with the picture it came with its fair share of a side of veggies. My husband enjoyed his steak. He commented that it melted in his mouth and also that it was lightly seasoned.

Buttermilk marinated green circle kitchen.
I wasn’t sure what to expect with this dish, it comes with a popcorn topping! It as great, the chicken was tender and it had lots of flavoring. I just wasn’t feeling up for fish this evening so that’s how I ended up with the chicken at the fish restaurant.

If you dined at Flying Fish before their remodel you will be elated to hear their best dish is finally back! After many complaints and a brand new chef, the Char-crusted New York Strip is back to stay! This is honestly the best thing on the menu, which is kinda funny for a place that specializes in fish.

Since we were celebrating our first wedding anniversary that evening they brought out this adorable dessert to our table. It was a chocolate mousse and chocolate sponge cake topped with sea salt.
Flying Fish Recommendation
The atmosphere here was perfect for celebrating our anniversary! It’s a cozy restaurant and the staff here goes above and beyond to make sure you have a perfect meal as well as take the time to get to know you. This location we felt was very pricey but considering the amount of food it wasn’t as crazy overpriced as we thought. This stop we feel is best left for those special occasions and not for those who are on the Disney Dining Plan.
