Be Our Guest Dining Review

Be Our Guest Dining Review

Dinner at the Beast's castle is a magical experience. Much like lunch, the interior will look like you stepped straight into the movie Beauty and the Beast. Unlike lunch, getting a reservation for dinner seems to be near impossible. So if you are looking to eat at Be Our Guest do not wait, book your reservation the morning of 60 days before your trip.

Some of the highlights of dinner include a meet and greet opportunity with the Beast himself. He meets inside the room where you put in your orders during lunch. As well, you have the option of drinking beer or wine at this location, something you can't normally otherwise do at the Magic Kingdom. So now it is time to relax and pull up a chair as the dining room proudly presents our review of Be Our Guest.

Note: This location used to serve a quick-service lunch and a formal sit-down dinner. Now it is just a formal sit-down with a 3-course prix fixe menu for both lunch and dinner. Both lunch and dinner are priced the same and offer the same menu. Breakfast is no longer served at this location

A Look Around Be Our Guest

Entrance

Once inside there are three main dining areas at the Beast’s Castle. The Ballroom is the largest of the three and is centrally located. This is the first room you’ll walk through when taken to your table, and the only room that all guests are taken through. The second is off to the left and that is the West Wing, where you will find the enchanted rose. Lastly is the Rose Room, while it doesn’t appear in the film, it feels like it is a part of the castle.

Be Our Guest Dining Review 2

As you enter into the castle and the main waiting area be sure to walk around and explore the castle. I love hanging out in the hall of suits of armor. They are all snoozing and if you listen you can hear them snoring.

Ballroom

Be Our Guest Dining Review 3

A look at the ballroom inside Be Our Guest, it really feels like you stepped into the movie. It is also important to note that out of the three dining room this one was by far the loudest one to be in. So if you are looking for something quieter request one of the other two locations.

I love looking out the back windows here, especially on hot summer days. When you peer out the window you can watch a light snowfall take place over Beast's kingdom.

West Wing

Now let's look a many peoples favorite room, the West Wing. This room is very dark and does have occasional thunder and lighting. If your child, or even you, don't like this combo it's best to request to eat in one of the other two rooms.

Be Our Guest Dining Review 4

Of course, you don't want to check out the Enchanted rose that is located in the back corner of the West Wing. Just like in the movie the rose is still intact but the petals are slowly falling off. If you want to catch a rose petal fall it happens about every 7 minutes. Listen for a low rumble as well as a chimes playing that's your sign that a rose petal is about to fall.

Be Our Guest Dining Review 5

Right after thunder and the rose petal falls look to a portrait hanging over the fireplace. It will briefly change from the Beast to his human form. Again this falls on the same every 7-minute timeline.

Rose Gallery

Be Our Guest Dining Review 6

The Rose Gallery is on the far right of the inside of the restaurant. The centerpiece of the room is the music box with a dancing Beauty and the Beast. I find this is the comfiest room to be seated in with its large plush furniture. Even if you don't get seated in here be sure to come in and explore the various portraits hanging on the wall.

While they are not currently handing out menus, I just want to share a peek at what they used to look like. It was the perfect complement to the red napkins folded as a rose.

Characters

There aren't many characters at this location. It's not a location that is labeled as a character meal but you do get to meet one character while dining here. Of course, it's non other than Beast himself. It's only fitting since you are dining in his house after all.

For now, with social distance rules, he won't stop at your table for photos or autographs. But he does walk around and periodically stops for you to take pictures from a distance. You are asked to remain seated at your table while he is visiting your section of the restaurant. Additionally, there are no autograph cards at Be Our Guest like there are at other character meals.

If you want to catch a great picture, or even a selfie with the Beast be sure to ask to be seated on one of the main walkway aisles. The beast appears every 30 minutes and he made 3 rounds while we were dining at Be Our Guest.

Be Our Guest Dishes

The following is a few of the dishes we have tried from their menu. When you eat here it is part of pre fixe menu so you get the choice of one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert.

Bread Starter

Be Our Guest Dining Review 7

We started our meal with bread, it was pretty much your standard French bread that came with some butter topped with sea salt. It used to be served as simple rolls but now it's a sliced loaf bread instead. It was great to have some of the bread with the meal, as well it came in handy to pair with the meat and cheese board appetizer.

Be Our Guest Dining Review 8

French Onion Soup

French Onion Soup at Be Our Guest

Of course what else would I start my meal off with other than French Onion soup? Or since we are dining in the French countryside maybe it's just onion soup? This is one of my favorites on the property, there was soooo much cheese I ran out of soup! The worst is when it is the other way around.

Maine Lobster Bisque

Be Our Guest Dining Review 9

The soup was Garnished with Crème Fraîche and Poached Lobster. It's very heavy so if you aren't up for a hot cream soup I would look at the other starter options. It was great but I was left wanting more chunks of lobster it was a very minimal amount of lobster in this.

Assorted Meats and Artisanal Cheese Selection

Be Our Guest Dining Review 10

This one was like a mini charcuterie board. It's fun to see this on the menu since the whole concept of charcuterie boards actually started in France. If you didn't know it's a spread of cured meats and meat products. Your board at Be Our Guest includes Chicken Rillettes, Shaved Serrano Ham, Chorizo Sausage, Pleasant Ridge Cheddar, Truffle Tremor, and Stilton Blue with Seasonal Garnishes.

It was a pretty good assortment but definitely wished there was more meat to balance out all the cheese that was present on the board. We were also glad we had bread service still on the table. There was only two small pieces of bread that came on the board and it was not enough to sample everything.

Country Seasonal Salad

Be Our Guest Dining Review 11

This salad comes with Toasted Walnuts, Fresh Fruit, and Seasonal Vinaigrette Dressing. If you are looking for a lighter starter the salad is a great option.

Center-cut Filet Mignon

Be Our Guest Dining Review 12

We were pleasantly surprised by this dish. The cut of the filet was nice and thick. I actually feel like he got a better portion of food with the filet versus my pork which I will touch upon more below. The Filet was served with Robuchon Yukon Potatoes, Seasonal Vegetables, and Cipollini Marmalade with a Red Wine Glaze.

There wasn't a drop of food left on my husband's plate by the end of the meal. The steak was seasoned to perfection cooked medium he said it melted in his mouth. Two thumbs up and the winning dish of the evening.

Herb-salted Pork Tenderloin

Be Our Guest Dining Review 14

I was between this dish and the chicken. The waiter strongly recommended going with the pork over the chicken since he felt it have more flavor and was just a better overall dish. The Herb Salted Pork Tenderloin is served with Crispy Pork Belly, Seasonal Vegetables-Two Ways, Pork Jus, and Candied Pecan.

It wasn't an overwhelming amount of food and I wish it included a starch of some sort with it. (Again this is where I was thankful for the bread basket.) However, the flavor was great and I thoroughly enjoyed the flavor of this dish. The candied pecans were a perfect added treat, I am a sucker for them and they paired perfectly with the pork!

Poulet Rouge Chicken

Be Our Guest Dining Review 15

The chicken here was served with a Savory Bread Pudding and Seasonal Vegetables with a Chicken Glace. I got this dish to try since I had sampled most of the other things on the menu but it's worth noting that with the pre-fixe menu chicken isn't stretching your dollar as much as opting for the steak dish. I wasn't the biggest fan of bread pudding but the sauce on top made up for it.

Dessert

Be Our Guest Dining Review 16

The dessert here is pre-picked out for you. When it came time for dessert we were brought out two matching plates. Of course, the highlight was the Chip cup in the center. Yes, he is ediable! Chip is just formed white chocolate and a great finisher after you enjoy the gray stuff he is filled up with.

On the left was a Lemon Jam Macaron. Normally I am not a lemon fan but it wasn't overpowering and I really enjoyed the summer flavors of this macaron.

On the far right is the Dark Chocolate Truffle. The truffle is filled with Dark Chocolate Grand Marnier Ganache.

Drinks at Be Our Guest

This restaurant is one of the few places you can get alcohol at the Magic Kingdom.

Be Our Guest Private Label Wine Sampler

Be Our Guest Dining Review 17

The three wines sampled here were - Enchanteé Champagne Brut, L’ombre de la Bête Chardonnay, L’ombre de la Bête Vin Rouge.

Enchantée Champagne Brut (Enchanted) Nicolas Feuillatte Champagne Brut, Chouilly

This fine French Champagne is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier. Lightly floral, with elegant notes of ripe apple and glazed apricot, layered with almond, pie crust, and honey. Delicate on the palate with a lively mousse and a creamy texture.

L’ombre de la Bête Chardonnay (Shadow of the Beast) Georges Duboeuf, Emile Beranger, Pouilly-Fuissé Burgundy

Pouilly-Fuissé is one of the most prestigious wines from the Maconnais region of Burgundy.  This wine is 100% Chardonnay and has been partially aged in french Oak which gives the wine a slight hint of almonds and cinnamon on the nose. Delicate lime and green apple flavors linger on the palate.

L’ombre de la Bête Vin Rouge (Shadow of the Beast) Jean-Luc Colombo, Les Bartavelles, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Rhône Valley

Château-du-Pape is one of the most renowned appellations of the southern part of the Rhone Valley. This wine is a blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvedre. A powerful and full-bodied wine with rich notes of blueberry, wild herbs, and lots of spice. The palate is mature and rich with velvety tannins, ending with a long finish.

Chimay Blue, Belgium

Be Our Guest Dining Review 18

Dark Belgian Strong Ale brewed by Trappist monks. Aromas of spice and dried fruit with light caramel notes. Body is smooth and luscious with hoppy, sourdough flavors. Fresh yeast provides a rosy, floral touch.

What Makes Be Our Guest Restaurant So Special?

While the food here is good it's really the theming that draws the crowd. Prior to it becoming a prix fixe menu people would book a reservation at this restaurant just to order a grey stuff cupcake and get to walk around the inside and check it out. I can understand why as the theming here is top-notch, which is why I think this spot is so special.

You can actually explore inside the beast castle and uncover all sorts of treasures from the beloved animated film Beauty and the Beast. Of course, it doesn't hurt that it's a semi-character meal and you can actually meet the beast while dining here.

Be Our Guest Recommendation

Dining at Be Our Guest is a whole experience in and of itself. It's totally different from other restaurants at the parks due to its immersive nature. How often can you say you dined at a restaurant that was inside of an animated film? The food was pretty good and the next time I will definitely be going with the steak!

If you are interested in booking a reservation for Be Our Guest you can do so through My Disney Experience. We highly recommend getting reservations in advanced as this is rarely a restaurant you can just walk up to get and a seat. Always check the app for last minute reservations that may pop up as people do cancel last minute. We also found that it was easier to get into lunch here and since it serves the same meal as dinner it was a great fallback.

There are plenty of better options at Disney. You can skip this! Overpriced without character experience.

Note that the menu for Be Our Guest is changing, and because of the newer food choices, dinner meals will now eat up two dining credits. Lunch remains quick service at one dining credit. I have a feeling, though, that this will make snagging those popular lunch ADRs more difficult since fewer will want the dinner ones if they're on the DDP.
