Tony’s Town Square Restaurant

Tony’s Town Square Restaurant

Tony’s Town Square Restaurant is a small dining location in the front of the Magic Kingdom park. This quaint spot is entirely themed after the Lady and the Tramp. When inside be sure to look around and check out the artwork on the walls, it is all from the movie.

Unfortunately, the reputation of this Disney World restaurant isn’t the greatest on property. Its got a prime spot right at the front of Main Street USA but its Italian food isn’t much to rave over. Of course for our readers, we had to try it out for ourselves. We were also hopeful since they seem to be updating the menu frequently these days. So let’s take a look at our experience dining at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant.

A Tour Around Tony’s Town Square

You will find this restaurant on the right as you walk into the Magic Kingdom. You can spot it right next to the Mickey meet and greet, again at the front of the park.

Once you walk in there is a large atrium where you can check in and wait for your reservation to start. When you check in they will take your phone number to send you a text when your table is ready. This is a great chance to explore the gift shop that is on the other side of the room.

Here is a glimpse of a table. It’s a cozy little restaurant there isn’t much seating here. This is a look into the center of the room. There is a balcony with some seating outside as well. For the summer months, I would make sure you sit inside otherwise you will cook out on the porch. The porch, however, can be a great place to sit if you time it to match up with a parade.

Dishes from Tony’s Town Square

Here is a look at the dishes we tried from our dinner at Tony’s Town Square.

Your meal at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant will start off with some bread and olive oil. It’s the standard fare you would expect at an Italian restaurant.

Pro tip: we were dipping our bread in our red sauce that came with our starter and our waitress was so awesome she brought out a whole cup for us! It’s a slightly spicy vodka sauce and it goes great with the bread and the mozzarella sticks below.

How could you say no when there is fried mozzarella on the menu! This starter is three hand-breaded slices of herb-marinated fresh mozzarella with creamy tomato sauce.

When you just can’t decide which dish to go with I recommend the Italian Trio. Three classic favorites on one dish! Chicken parmigiana, fettuccine alfredo, and spaghetti with pork-beef meatball. The main difference between ordering the dishes separate versus getting this is you get chicken on the fettuccine alfredo and the chicken parmesan comes with penne.

I would have much preferred the red sauce that came with the appetizer. It wasn’t bad, but there wasn’t all that much special about it either, it seemed on par with your average grocery store canned sauce. The same could be said on the alfredo sauce.

Just to be different I decided to check out Roman-style Steak. This dish is balsamic-glazed beef tenderloin medallions topped with bacon marmalade, local vegetables, and mashed potatoes. The meat was really tender and the balsamic flavor was a great addition to the meat. Though I will say the fried onion mashed potatoes was an interesting combination. My only complaint here is that meat was overly fatty, but I just could have had a bad cut.

Tony’s Town Square Review Recommendation

Our waitress made this experience so special. She went so above and beyond and made it a meal to remember. However, I feel like I wasn’t wowed by the food. I still think I could have gone to the Carrabba’s just off Disney property and had a better Italian meal. If you want to eat Italian at Disney I highly recommend booking a reservation at Via Napoli.
