Recipe for Toy Story Pretzel Rods

Planning a Toy Story themed party? I have the perfect treat for you to serve up! Here is my recipe on how to make your own Toy Story pretzel rods. All themed after your favorite characters from the movie series. These are great to but out as a treat or to make a cute little take-home gift at the end of the day! I highly recommend getting the kids involved too, they can put their own spin on each character when decorating.

Ingredients for Toy Story Pretzels

Jessi’s Ropes:

• Pretzel Rods
• White Candy Melts
• Red Candy Melts
• Ziploc baggie/piping bag
• Wax paper

Buzz Lightyear:

• Pretzel Rods
• White Candy Melts
• Bright Green Candy Melts
• Purple Candy Melts
• Mini M&M’s
• Ziplock baggie/piping bag
• Wax paper

Woody:

• Pretzel Rods
• Yellow Candy Melts
• Red Candy Melts
• Ziploc baggie/piping bag
• Wax paper

Aliens:

• Pretzel Rods
• Blue Candy Melts
• Green Candy Melts
• Candy Eyes

Directions for Toy Story Pretzel Rods

1. Melt the yellow candy melts according to the package instructions. Spread in a thick layer on wax paper.
2. Roll a pretzel rod in the candy melt and set on a piece of wax paper. You will need 3 yellow pretzels. Allow the remaining candy melts to harden. Once hardened, you can transfer to a gallon Ziploc bag for storage and remelt later.
3. Next, melt white candy melts according to the package instructions. Spread a layer like you did the yellow and roll 6 pretzels in the white candy melts. These will be your Buzz and Jessi pretzel rods. Set aside on wax paper.
4. Finally, melt the blue candy melts and dip 3 pretzels. Set aside. Now, all of your base layers are complete!

Directions For Jessi:

1. Melt red candy melts and pour into a piping bag or Ziploc baggie. If you are using a baggie, cut a VERY small hole in the corner.
2. Pipe a long squiggly line for Jessi’s rope down the pretzel.

Woody Pretzel Directions:

1. Using the melted red candy melts, make two long stripes down the yellow pretzels.
2. Then, make small horizontal stripes over the long stripes to resemble Woody’s shirt.

Directions For Buzz Lightyear Pretzels:

1. Melt bright green candy melts according to package instructions and move to a piping bag or Ziploc bag. If you are using a Ziploc bag, cut a VERY small hole in the corner.
2. Pipe a few small lines just under the white area of the pretzel.
3. Repeat this process with the purple candy melts.
4. Pick out blue, green and red mini M&M’s. Pipe a tiny dot of candy melts on the ‘M’ side and stick to the white part of the pretzel.

Alien Pretzel Directions:

1. Melt the green candy melts according to package instructions.
2. Roll the pretzel halfway in the green. You may need to let it set and harden and do 2 layers to fully coat.
3. Before the green has hardened, stick on candy eyes.
