Disney World Splurges for Kids

Disney World Splurges for Kids

A Disney World vacation in and of itself is a splurge for your kids. We are going to share with you some special Disney World splurges for kids. Typically Disney World vacations don’t happen on the cheap, especially when you have your whole family in tow. If you are looking to make some extra magical moments for your kids we have the perfect ideas on how to do so!

Bibbidi Bobbidy Boutique

At Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique your princess will be transformed into a proper Disney princess. This experience is complete with hair, make-up, nails and the all-important glitter. There are two locations, one is located next to the World of Disney in Disney Springs. The other location is inside Cinderella’s Castle at the Magic Kingdom.

In Room Surprises

The options are endless with Disney’s in-room celebrations! We did one on our Disney Honeymoon and were just blown away by the detail! To see all the various options just head over to the in-room celebration website.

If you are looking to save some money you can also bring your own decorations to put up in the room. The dollar store is the perfect spot to pick up supplies for this. We also have a whole guide on something call Tinkerbell Gifts, where you surprise your kids with treats when they are behaving well.

Character Dining

What is character dining at Disney World? There are special meals offered at select restaurants that feature characters who will come and greet you throughout your meal. These meals are always at buffets or pre-fix menu locations. They are normally pricier than other buffets due to the characters. They are so popular due to your ability to meet so many characters without having to wait in hour-long lines at the parks.

Toys and Treats

Everywhere you turn at Disney World you will find a gift shop filled to the brim with toys and treats for you and your children. It can be hard to resist temptation. Even as a local I still find myself in stores picking up a new treasure or shirt to wear.

You can always surprise your kids ahead of time with a set of Disney kids coupons! Each coupon can be redeemed for a different gift you can find around Disney World like clothes, popcorn, toys, etc. In order to do this, you can make your own set of Disney coupons or get this super cute set over on Etsy!

Holiday Parties

Disney World Splurges for Kids 2

There are two special holiday events here at Disney World, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Both are fantastic events which my husband and I love attending even without kids. Encounter characters you wouldn’t normally see along with low wait times due to limited ticket availability. Plus each special event has a stunning exclusive parade and firework show.

Hotel Rooms with Bunkbeds

I would beg my parents to get a bunk bedroom when I was a kid! The three resorts that currently offer bunk beds are Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. If bunk beds don’t appeal then how about some extra pixie dust in your room? Pirate Rooms are available at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Royal Guest Rooms can be found at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort Riverside.

Afternoon Tea

My Disney Girl’s Perfectly Princess Tea Party is the ultimate mommy daughter experience. The event is at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, this tea party is 90 minutes of living like a true princess. You and your daughter will be sprinkled with rose petals, served apple “tea” in china cups. You will be showered with gifts like a beautiful doll and scrapbook kit, and entertained with stories and song by Princess Aurora. I am sure that you will both definitely have a magical experience.

This experience is offered on select mornings and typically begins at 10:30 AM. Advance reservations are highly recommended and can be made up to 180 days prior to your visit. For reservations or other inquiries, please call (407) WDW-MYTEA or (407) 939-6983.
