Disney Rides you Should Never Make a Fastpass For

Disney Rides you Should Never Make a Fastpass For

Believe it or not, there are some rides we feel you should never make a Fastpass for! When making your Fastpasses in advance you only get to pick three rides at just one park. That means you have to pick your Fastpass strategically so you can spend less time in line and more time enjoying other things! Right now we are focusing on those first three that you should book 30 days out or 60 days out if you are staying at a Disney World Resort. When you go back later in the day and try to book more after your first three, everything is fair game.

Important to note, if there is anything listed below that you or a family member is dying to ride on your next vacation, ignore me and book it anyhow. This guarantees that you will get to skip any line that may develop. Alternatively, you can also read Best Disney Fastpass Picks for Each Park. Magic Kingdom Fastpass

Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor

Even during the busiest times, I have yet to see this ride with a wait time posted greater than 15 minutes. It’s a huge theater that sits a lot of people so that helps keep your wait time to a minimum. The great thing about this attraction is repeatability. It’s different jokes, different tourist so no two shows are the same!

Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid

As a continuously moving attraction, these ones seems to continuously eat up the people. The bottleneck I catch in this ride is actually people getting caught up with all the queue line has to offer and forget to move up and get on the ride! Once they realize, the line will go from a standstill to moving super fast. I have also notice that even when this ride is a posted 30-minute wait we never wait more than 15 minutes!

Mickey’s PhilharMagic

This is another attraction that is housed in a giant theater. Around every 10 minutes, it lets another large group into the theater making this one a quick and easy wait. I was worried the other week when my husband and I were actually queued out of the building for the next show. It was about a 15-minute wait but we were able to get a seat no problem!

Epcot Fastpass

Journey Into Imagination With Figment

This classic Epcot attraction rarely has any line to speak so we recommend skipping getting a Fastpass for this one.

Disney & Pixar Short Film Festival

This attraction is having an identity crisis. What was once Captain EO or Honey I Shrunk the Audience has now turned into a movie theater while Disney figures out what they want to turn it into? Really the only wait for this attraction is between shows so we recommend using your Fastpass elsewhere, like Turtle Talk with Crush just across the way in the Seas Pavillion.

EPCOT Forever

This one is more of a bias for me, this is one of my least favorite firework shows. It’s great if you have never watched the show before but I feel like the repeatability on this one just isn’t there.

At Epcot, this Fastpass option is marked a tier one which means instead of this you could reserve a time for Soarin or Test Track! Those waits get insanely long even on a slow park day. The fireworks, on the other hand, have loads of viewing options around the entire park and you don’t have to always camp out for hours to see the fireworks. If you want to watch this show read our Best Epcot Firework Viewing Locations.

Hollywood Studios Fastpass

Fantasmic!

This is a tier one and would be a huge waste if you chose this option. If you want a good seat for Fantastic just be in line an hour before the show starts. Instead, go for that Toy Story Mania or Rock “n” Roller Coaster Fastpass.

Beauty and the Beast – Live on Stage

This is housed in a huge theater and really doesn’t require a Fastpass. It is a great show, be sure to stop in and see it on your way to check-in at the Tower of Terror!

Muppet Vision 3D

I have never in my life seen a line at this attraction! It’s a cute little 3D show tucked in the back of the park. A great option to cool off and relax but has gotten outdated over the years. The crowds definitely don’t flock to this stop and I wouldn’t waste a Fastpass on it.

Indiana Jones

This is another attraction that is housed in a giant theater. It’s a cool show to catch but this is another one that I feel just doesn’t hold up on repeatability. It’s not an every trip must do, which is another factor that keeps the wait time non-existent at this experience.

Disney Junior

Okay, you are probably sick of hearing this but this is another large theater that gobbles up lines of people. Are you sensing a theme here at Hollywood Studios?

Animal Kingdom Fastpass

It’s tough to be a Bug!

This theater show hidden inside the tree of life has plenty of seats for all to enjoy. During the busy season, a line can start to develop but still isn’t worth wasting a Fastpass on it. Also be warned this show features dark scenes, some pretty scary bugs, and may not be a little too scary for your little ones.

Festival of the Lion King

This show is a must-see! The great thing about the popularity of this show is that it has MANY showings throughout the day. We recommend going to see this one midday when the heat kicks in and you want to escape and take a break. Arriving 30 minutes before the showtime should be ample time to still get a good seat.

Up! A Great Bird Adventure Show

Another show in a large theater, you should have no problem catching the show throughout the day, remember to check your times guide for show times that work for you.

Finding Nemo – The Musical

Another fantastic show that is offered at the Animal Kingdom. Just like the Festival of the Lion King, there are numerous showings offered throughout the day. Arriving 30 minutes prior to the show should get you a seat in the theater with no issues.

We didn't get to see Indiana Jones last year when we went because the wait time was too long :(
