Located in the Town Center of Disney Springs, Frontera Cocina is headed by Celebrity Chef Rick Bayless. If you have no idea who that is, like me when I was first told, Chef Bayless is best known for winning Bravo TV’s “Top Chef Masters” program with his authentic Mexican cuisine. He also is the host of the PBS show “Mexico One Plate at a Time”.
From the outside you may not be able to guess that it’s a Mexican restaurant but once you step inside it’s a complete transformation. There are so many beautiful touches inside of here. Be on the lookout for a wall of tequila (referred to as the Wall of Fame) along with some beautiful glass chandeliers.

Frontera Cocina Dishes
The following is a few of the dishes we have tried from their menu.
Carne Asada for making Soft Tacos. Grilled steak, poblano rajas, black beans refritos with queso fresco, salsa verde, guacamole, served with corn tortillas
The steak was nice and tender and made for some great tacos! Of course the key element is the guac here I just wish they gave you a little more.
Grilled Chicken for making Soft Tacos. Grilled chicken, poblano rajas, black beans refritos with queso fresco, guacamole, chipotle salsa, served with corn tortillas.
The same as its steak counterpart list before this dish. We actually like this one better because the chicken just had so much more flavor!
Oaxacan Red Chile Chicken. Crispy half chicken, Oaxacan red mole, plantain rice, warm corn tortillas.
Fresh guacamole and chips.
I don’t know how this one got put at the bottom because this is a must get here. So fresh so flavorful the guac is a must get. Let’s put one more shot in just to get you drooling!
Guac close up!
Frontera Cocina Recommendation
Guac! Can I leave my recommendation at that? Okay in all seriousness the food here is full of flavor and fresh a great stop at Disney Springs. It serves up authentic Mexican food so if Tex-Mex is more your thing this may be one to skip. As far as reservations go this is one we have found is often available upon walk up. If you are visiting Disney World during peak times then as with any sit down restaurant we recommend booking a reservation in advance.
If you are interested in booking a reservation for Frontera Cocina you can do so through My Disney Experience as well as Open Table.
